The original thread (part 1) is now closed. here is a continuation of the same topic (part 2) with the following links:

Part 1 (the original thread)--

Pearsonvue "Trick". Is this TRUE? Does it Work Every Time?

Poll to take once you have received your response--

Pearson Vue Trick - Poll once you receive your results

Here are the exact steps to see if you passed or failed the NCLEX exam on the pearson vue web site:

1) go to http://www.vue.com/NCLEX.

2) select the 'test taker services' tab at the top.

3) click 'register' on the right side.

4) click the 'credit card' link.

5) click the 'sign in' link in the second sentence.

6) enter your username.

7) enter your password.

? click the button.

9) click 'register' on the left side.

10) select your test type.

11) click the button.

12) select your country.

13) click the button.

14) answer the yes/no questions.

15) select your country again.

16) select your state.

17) type in your city.

18) click the button. a list of schools should appear.

19) select your school.

20) select the month and year of your graduation.

21) select your board of nursing.

22) click the button.

Very important: at this point, if you get a pop up that says 'the candidate currently has test results that are on hold. a new registration cannot be created at this time.', it has nothing to do with passing or failing; It just means that they are reviewing your records due to random reviews that they conduct, or because they needed to locate some data or papers, etc. This means you will possibly have to wait a few more days than your friends who did not get this message. If you get the message 'our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. Please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.', that means you passed. If you do not get either message and go straight to the credit card information page, that means you did not pass.

Your pearsonvue account must state that delivery is successful before you try the trick

I haven't read a post yet where it hasn't been accurate. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen though.. good luck.

Worked for me.

unfortunately for you, it is accurate! Sorry!

I took the nclex-rn 2days ago, I tried the pearson vue trick today and was so devastated when it asked for my credit card payment. Has anyone experienced the same thing but still passed when the mail arrived? My state is CA and I still have to waIt for about 3weeks.

I just feel so numb right now. Please enlighten me.

i got the credit card page also and found out 2 days later with the quick results that I failed. I searched high and low for any threads that would indicate a glitch but nothing :( I'm sorry. I tested monday found out wednesday and recheduled already today friday for the ned of april! good luck!! post in the nclex section there's a few threads like this

Just being objective here:

4 people, including me. All did the PVT..

1 person got the Credit Card Page

3 people got the pop-up.

the one that got the credit card page did not pass.

this is in CA for the NCLEX-RN, in February 2011.

Whispera,

The trick is you try to register for the nclex again after taking it. If it pops up with a form that says "our records indicate that you are already scheduled to take thsi exam" (the wording might be a bit different) then you passed the test, If it goes the credit card page to let you register again ..........its because the computer system knows that you need to retake the test and you failed.

The few post i have read where the trick was wrong were all out of california because i guess the bon reviews scores and on rare occassion let a few through that would have otherwise failed in other states ? Im not from CA and that is just what i got from reading the thread so defininately don't take my word. but the general rule of thumb is if you get the credit card page.....you failed. good luck!

If you passed, your license will appear on the CA BRN website under "license verification" within 2-3 days of passing. Go to rn.ca.gov and look yourself up. The only reason your license wouldn't post in 2-3 days is either if you didn't pass, or if your school hasn't yet sent them your final paperwork showing you graduated -- but schools generally do that within a week or two of graduation, so unless you graduated recently, that wouldn't be the reason.

If you didn't pass, don't despair. You can sign up to retake it in 45 days (and study your rear end off between now and then).

Best of luck to you!

The "trick" has been accurate everytime that I know of. Can you not get the QUICK RESULTS from PearsonVue? I paid the $8 when they were available in 48 hours just to confirm.

Another piece of good advise; in addition to studying your ( _|_ ) off, invest and take one of the NCLEX review courses. There's a number of them out there; Kaplan, Hurst, etc. One of them (the one I took) boast's a 98% first time pass rate or money back. They can be pricey (couple of hundred $$$) but again well worth the money if they help you pass.

Good luck!!

The pearson trick worked for me as well(I passed). How many questions did you have? I had 75, usually the less the better from what I hear. Good luck to you and if you didn't pass this time, definitely take Kaplan, well worth it!
