Hi! I'm looking at FNP programs. What have you heard about Olivet Nazarene University? I've heard great things so far. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the curriculum; it looks like there aren't as many core FNP classes as there are in other programs. Has anyone gone through their FNP program? Have any insight? Thanks!
I also start in Feb 2017. Nervous but excited to begin this journey. Will you still be starting this semester as well? I am a little nervous about finding preceptors but I figure I'll just ask old professors, my primary care provider for referrals or coworkers. And if there is no luck for one of the courses I'm sure the school will help in securing a preceptor.
I've been trying to get into this program as I just finished the MSN at WGU however I keep getting hit with road blocks. They said my 3 P's courses will not qualify for their program and I will have to retake them. This is going to be a setback to the start date and I am also confused as how these courses are offered. If anyone has any input I would appreciate. The admissions counselor is out until Monday.
I'm currently in the program and just started the 1st week of the advanced patho class. there has been no mention of webcams. I have my 1st exam in 2 weeks.. are these webcams supposed to be school provided? I have heard of other FNP programs requiring the students to purchase a school issued webcam for this reason.
I'm looking into the FNP post master's program. I have a MSN from another university and just submitted my application. I have several preceptors lined up so i'm ok there. I would start in April. I have been accepted to Simmons college and the cost is 3x what ONU is. The good thing is that they have live sessions and guided classes, but i have to repeat 6-8 of them and still pay for them. which is a lot. I"m wondering if people really like this program. I do live in Illinois and I am very used to an online based class program- so i'm not worried there. Any advice about this program?
I'm looking for anybody in the POST MSN certificate program. I will start in summer and will need to retake my 3P courses too, because the ones I had were not geared for a provider role and were more of a general overview. I'm wondering how they work financial aid for post MSN??? I have looked at several programs and need a program that will allow me to use federal financial aid (if I had 25k laying around I wouldn't be going to school to better myself).
I am part of the cohort that started using Examity online proctoring. The patho content is unrealistic and did not facilitate critical thinking skills. I like the program but the pathophysiology exam content is terrible. I think more than 80% of the class failed that first exam. They had us read 450 pages and take a 50 question test which are too objective and included SATA (while other students only had MAQs). We were given a study guide that did not guide us at all. IT was crazy. Hopefully they will do something about this.

Hi,
I'm looking for people that are currently in the program and are taking patho or pharm. I know the program has gone through a lot of changes and I wanted to know how it really is now. I just talked to one of the advisors of Olivet and they said they are now having students in those courses do video proctored exams. Also 3 exams in each of those classes are closed book. Which is not typical for an online course. I'm trying to get real advise from students that are currently having to deal with the "changes." I have friends that have become fnp's from this program but they didn't have to be webcammed and everything was open book. Please anyone with insight I'd love to hear from you. I'm supposed to start in feb 2017!
