Hi! I'm looking at FNP programs. What have you heard about Olivet Nazarene University? I've heard great things so far. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the curriculum; it looks like there aren't as many core FNP classes as there are in other programs. Has anyone gone through their FNP program? Have any insight? Thanks!

Oh nice that was quick! Congrats!

ClayH, :roflmao: I know right? Well she said that the likelihood of me getting into the August cohort is high. Oh, well, all I got to do is wait. :D

I have applied for the Fall cohort for Post FNP certificate. I am doing the stats class. What else should I do to get in the fall cohort? You mentioned about the finances, can you tell me more on that? Thanks

Hi apark29. You need to contact the SGCS financial Solutions department. They need to know your form of payment - Financial aid, personal loan or thru employer. I did this while I was on wait list. I mentioned to her that it will be employer sponsored and they just took note of that. I updated the admissions department as well. I didn't have to set up any payment yet until I am secured a spot. Once I was given a spot, they emailed me for more detailed description of setting up payment. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the information. I did contact them and told them my preference of loan payment. I am trying hard to secure a place for the Fall 2016 cohort. Don't know if I will.

I know how you feel! I was in the same boat a little over a week ago. I was told I was #2 on the waitlist. Don't loose hope. It took me only 1 week on the waiting list until I secured a spot. :)

That is definitely encouraging. Did you talk to anyone at Olivet apart from the recruitment person?

I have only been communicating with Megan Rieder - Admissions Councilor and Marisol from Financial Solutions.

So recap of who all will be in the Aug 2016 cohort???

I am in! Still stuck with my Statistics! :(

Did you do your Canvas Student Orientation? I have already done my introduction in the class :D

Get that stats done :) yeah I did the orientation course stuff in there. Is our 1st real class open now? I was told they usually open it up a few weeks early. I'll pm with my contact info since we'll be classmates for the next 2 years!

I just started with the August cohort as well! I wish us luck with the program!

If anybody is interested, I'd like to create a Facebook group for our cohort where we can provide support and resources for each other so we can all graduate!

Hi there

I need help with 2-3 questions. I am seriously considering Olivet FNP certificate program. I am worried about advanced P s as they are just 6 weeks .How intense are they? How many exams are there alongwith assignments? I think this is too fast for a working person.

Secondly I say at CCNE webiste that Masters is CCNE accredited but not post masters certificate but when I asked them they said that it does not matter. Is that true so that I dont want to run into problems later when I write the certification exam and how is the pass rate of FNP certification exam? How is the reputition of this university and are teachers helpful?

Lastly how hard is to find preceptors. Anyone's help will be greatly appreciated in making my decision.
