Hi! I'm looking at FNP programs. What have you heard about Olivet Nazarene University? I've heard great things so far. The only thing I'm a little worried about is the curriculum; it looks like there aren't as many core FNP classes as there are in other programs. Has anyone gone through their FNP program? Have any insight? Thanks!
Hello, nice to read from you brave nurses who were able to get started with the FNP. I was suppose to start in the august cohort, but due to some issues, i couldn't. Now i want to start in October. To you that have already started, how is it? is it hectic? can you keep a full time job and family? Also i read from previous posts that the FNP passing rate is high. Is it true now? Anyone starting in October 2016? Any recommendation would help Thanks!
I want to start in Feb, 2017. How difficult to find the preceptor? I talked to the admission counselor that student is responsible for the preceptor. Each specialty need different preceptor that is what I worried.
Hi im planning on starting in Feb 2017...I've done my research and this programs best fits...I'm actually in an MSN program but not FNP..so I don't know how everything will go hopefully I can transfer what I've already started...I'm nervously excited!!!
I am in the process of finishing my MSN at Western Governors University right now and should be done with my last course by the end of the month. The enrollment counselor is out for new years so I was hoping you guys could provide some insight. I am looking to start in 2.2017. I have all my application documentation submitted (FNP agreement, 2 transcripts from other schools and license) except for my WGU transcript. Is there a deadline from finishing the application to being enrolled? I have talked to friends that are NPs and they are willing to precept. The enrollment counselor said I could theoretically use the same NP for all rotations but they prefer a specific one to the population that is focused in the course.
Just an update for an upcoming or prospective students to ONU MSN FNP program as I know it really helped me hearing from current and former ONU students when I was considering ONU. I would be confident advising to ignore a lot of previous remarks about the credibility of the program you might have read on allnurses. I guess in the past there was some issues, however this program and school is on par with any reputable institution in the country (this will be my 5th college degree). It is CCNE accredited, which is the gold standard, so that should end all debate. I am only 6 months in so I can't attest to anything past what I have experienced but the program has been doable with a full time job although I hear the 2nd yr is much more busy. I put in a solid 20 hours a week. At least up this point it is a lot of essays (x2 6-9 pgs per 6 wk course), DQs, and various other tasks. Professors are pretty good and available to help. Courses are laid out nicely (similar to any other online courses I've done).
Let me know if you have any questions and i will try to help as best I can!

Hi there
I need help with 2-3 questions. I am seriously considering Olivet FNP certificate program. I am worried about advanced P s as they are just 6 weeks .How intense are they? How many exams are there alongwith assignments? I think this is too fast for a working person.
Secondly I say at CCNE webiste that Masters is CCNE accredited but not post masters certificate but when I asked them they said that it does not matter. Is that true so that I dont want to run into problems later when I write the certification exam and how is the pass rate of FNP certification exam? How is the reputition of this university and are teachers helpful?
Lastly how hard is to find preceptors. Anyone's help will be greatly appreciated in making my decision.
