I didn't see a recent thread like this, so I thought it might be interesting to share.

So far 101 in LTC. She was my age in 1923, and married in 1929. I can't even fathom that. She had hardly any meds and was sharp as can be....she was hilarious!

I did a rotation in LTC. I was doing an assessment on someone and she says, "I'm 106, I live with my sister. She's 101." I'm like, okay, dementia. Then the LTC director told me they were indeed sisters and room mates and both over 100. I want some of their genes.

In LTC I took care of a lady who was 101. She was sharp as a tack and up until the end could mostly take care of herself, died peacefully in her sleep one night.

Wow....and still accepted as an organ donor? I've had to call organ donation center many times, and typically once I got to the part about them being elderly, the questions are pretty much over. Yes, they ask about being on vents, and COD, etc, but I've never had anyone very elderly accepted for any donation of any type. I wonder what the criteria would be for certain things....do you know?

Had one in acute care that was 106. Admitted for "feeling kind of tired lately." Sharp as a tack, lived alone, delightful person. LTC: 105 in the Dementia Unit.
