Published

I am so excited about starting the nursing program and thought it would be fun to see who else is excited!! Tell everyone what school you will be attending, what was your GPA, and TEAS score. Fall 2011 RRRRROOOOLLLLLL CCCCAAAALLLL:yeah::yeah::yeah:

I will be attending GPC, my GPA was 3.8, and my TEAS V score was 82%!

I was expected to start my nursing classes starting in Jan, but I just got a call today from my school telling me that I can start this fall!!!! Now I have to hurry up and get my physical and titers drawn. Good thing I already have my CPR done! I am sooooo excited!!!!:yeah::heartbeat:clown:

Wonderful, I know you are super excited:yeah::yeah:

Gloucester County College. I have a 4.0 GPA and scored a 96% composite on the HESI. We start orientation in the morning!

Specializes in CCRN-CSC-CMC.

I start the ADN program at TSU on August 30th. Orientation is on the 25th. I have a GPA of 4.0, and a HESI score of 93%.

Specializes in Operating Room.

Sad news it looks as if I wont be starting on August 29th like i had anticipated at the last minute the student health services people sent me a medical compliance letter saying they need proof of my titer report for immunization...i did all my medical paperword before the month of August was over and this is very last minute...to make matters worse I am not near my school of choice so this provides an even bigger dilemma

I am already stressed with the school I picked

I remember reading that your clinical doesn't start until October, isn't that enough time to get your medical papers together? Are you sure you can't start your fundamentals classes with everyone else? Call and ask about it, most schools want your medical before clinical start, not necessarily before your program starts. Good luck to you. :)

I just started Nursing school yesterday!! My GPA was a 3.0 and I did not have to take the TEAS, just started being a requirement for incoming Nursing students PHEW!! I got to St. Xavier University in Chicago!! Good luck everyone!!

In NJ?

I'm starting a Delaware State University even though I live in NJ. My GPA is 3.8 with TEAS 87.1%!

Yanno,

I truly hate to be a "kill-joy" here, so to speak, being you all, are so proud of your near perfect GPA's and TEAS test composite scores, but once you enter your programs, ALL THAT DOES NOT EVEN MATTER. "whoop pee dooo" , you got in. Everybody starts back at GROUND ZERO!!! Its hanging in there and MAINTAINING, is what matters. GETTING in is really the easy part, even though you may think its difficult. I am an RN, with a BS in Community Health ED. I didn't take the BSN route, I wanted to be more marketable. I am just speaking from experience. Lets just maintain that 75 or 80, throughout the program. Thats what it was in my ADN program. Now that would be something to celebrate. When you start out with 60 and graduate 22...I say pop open the champange!!

Love to all my sister and brother future nurses!! Congrats, sincerely:redbeathe

If you look at some more of the thread there are some people with GPAs of less than 3.0 that got into a nursing program. Its actually encouraging to see that all range of grades got into the program. Gives some hope to the applicants that weren't able to have those near perfect GPAs.

Even though the nursing program is hard I'm still aiming to maintain my 3.8, I don't want to settle for just barely making it if possible :)

Good Morning,

I am in no way denying the fact them many get into programs with less than perfect GPA's. However it can be very intimidating for someone who is trying to get in, when it seems 9 out of 10 people have nearly 4.0 gpas. That can't be encouraging to many that read this site. They just aren't making comments, for that very fact. All I am saying is I am proud of every one with the high gpa's. The majority of you scholars have not ever graced the doors of the program, and HAVE NO IDEA. It does not matter what your gpa is, everyone that start is the same, whether 2.8 or 3.8. You all made the cut. So all you scholars out there, get ready for a ride of you life! I can remember when I got my "thick letter" in the mail versus the "thin one".

Congratulations to everyone and good luck! :yeah:

I started my online rn to bsn program at Unitek College in Fremont, California. I have been a nurse for a while but it wasn't that hard to get back in the swing of things with work and school. So far classes have been going very well and I am really excited!
