Looking at LVN program at 46
I was a stay-at-home mom who started working on my ADN at the age of 51. Fast forward to now, at age 60 I am halfway through my MSN Educator and have been a PN clinical instructor for 5 months. It's never too late if it's something you really want and something you can afford.

I haven't posted much but wanted to come on to say. . . FINISHED!!! I turned my capstone in on 11/22. Honestly that was the easiest class I took! Every paper was turned in early and I was relaxed throughout as opposed to the teeth gnashing I usually went through. It helped that there was no @%#!*^& CLC. Relax and enjoy the ride, rob3536. It is almost over!

Ok, seriously going to sleep soon. I've been fairly out of commission because of illness. I got a cough then ear infection in the beginning of December, repeat, repeat, repeat with the ear. One tube, not a whole lot of pain relief and months long bout with mono later I'm on the downhill slide to this degree-- difficult advisor not withstanding! I have Trends and Capstone to go. Is anyone else in the same place? I figure it isn't likely, but thought I'd ask anyway!

Two classes to go and I'm having SERIOUS advisor issues. I'm ready to flip out. I got a new advisor in the class before this apparently and she seems to think her job is CANCELLING my classes instead of scheduling them. I checked my personal email before heading to bed two hours ago because I'm sleep-deprived today and still recovering from mono and I find an email saying she tried to call me today (while I was at work) and because of unresolved academic or financial issues (Um, 4.0 and all classes taken to date are paid for) the class I'm scheduled to start on July 6 is on hold. Now I'm so aggravated I can't sleep and I need to be up too soon for work. She called the day the class I'm in now started to tell me she pulled me from it because I had an incomplete from the previous class. Maybe ask first? I had an extension because of the mono and had paid cash for the class. Apparently the cash is the reason I got reinstated because you can't be in a class if you have an incomplete...and yet I did it quite successfully. That was my FIRST interaction with her! I'm really irritated right now.

Can anyone tell me what book we use for Leadership? I see a few titles that could fill the bill in my account. I usually buy a very cheap, usually earlier edition of the book to have in hand and I want to start looking. Working on replies and my work plan for Community Health after putzing around all day.

Help! I took an almost 6 month leave and I forget how to access my books online! I've got a paper copy of the previous edition that I've been using, but wanted to do a search. I'm downloading the book onto my comp now, but can't figure out where to go online to access. Elsevier? I can't believe I forget!

I'm looking for Trends instructor recommendations, Patho as well. I have one for Trends and 2 for Patho. Can some of you share? I've made my request for Leadership but if that doesn't work out, I'm going for one of the other two. I'm just trying for Leadership first so I don't have to do a CLC in my next class!
