I just wanted to start a post for all of those OCC students who are waiting to get into the ADN program (regular or accelerated) in 2010. There are only 2 more months until the acceptance letters will be mailed out. Let's keep in touch and keep each other updated!
:hpygrp:
I read a few pages back about someone suggesting you take a medical terminology class. That is NOT necessary, you will take medical terminology as part of 1410 (foundations of nursing). They have you buy the book they list and you have to answer questions from the CDROM and turn them in by the deadline.
I'm intrigued by what the official cut off gpa is. When we applied (2yrs ago) it was a 3.6 now I'm hearing that it's closer to the 4.0 end. It has jumped a lot. If you get a denial letter this time around and are close to the cut-off you may still get in as people may chose not to attend or the accelerated program may be offered again (I heard otherwise, but nothing is certain). Best of luck to all!
Hey everyone. I talked to my counselor. They are pretty sure they are not going to do the accelerated program. Therefore, the GPA cutoff is going to be 3.8n something. I know I will not get in with my GPA. I will be taking classes over and applying this year. Good luck to everyone, though, that is still waiting for you letter :-)
oh, Sorry to hear that Mocha. What classes do you think you will take over? Have
you considered trying for the LPN program and then bridging later?
I was checking my GPA , and a 3.88 for the LPN program would be all A and 2 A-. I
need to buckle down. Ive been so bored with A&p 1 lately. I started off strong, and
my test scores keep getting lower. I will have to say that out of a full class, I
hear very few people who get A in the science classes at Highland Lakes.
If I were you I would not retake any science classes there.

I just want to say, I hope you ALL get in. I'll be sending out positive thoughts until the letters come in:D
Heck, I'll be where you guys are in one year. YIKES.
