i have not had achey feet since i started wearing SAS shoes. expensive but worth every penny.

I spent 100 bucks on Aasics running shoes last month and have not been able to live without them at work and off work. Expensive, heck yes, but WELL well worth it ffrom my feets point of view.(Costs less the PT or bunionectomy

Try some Crocs, not expensive and worked for me when Rebok's, New Balances and Birks didn't. Man, I've spent a lot on crappy shoes!

Specializes in A myriad of specialties.

Buy two pairs of supportive shoes. Take both to work and change them half-way through your shift (or q2-3 hrs). It was the best solution for me!

Specializes in Med/Surg, Ortho.

As you can see its a trial and error type thing. And what works this week may not work so well in 6 months. good luck

go to the doctor and make sure nothing is wrong with your feet like fallen arches or heel spurs :uhoh21: then try the other's suggestions.

nursing shoes always bothered me. dansko clogs and some other kind i bought earlier this year were nice. but i wish i hadn't bought them since i am leaving the hospital.

be well

My Nike Shox are really comfy. I don't have aching feet nearly as often since I've started wearing them. I've noticed though, that my feet tend to hurt more when I'm having an extremely stressful shift, whether I'm walking a lot or not. Today, for example, I was on my feet a lot, back and forth between two really sick kiddos, but I wouldn't have expected sore feet with only two patients, ten feet apart. Go figure.

I have Dansko clogs and my feet never hurt anymore, but when I first got them they hurt like heck trying to break them in. Took about 3 12 hour shifts, but now they are great.

I can't imagine that's healthy to do that to feet.
