Try a soak of hot water and Epsom salts. Also, if you develop plantar fascitis (excuse my spelling): curl your toes while gently flexing your foot. Always do this before standing.

I was having a lot of trouble with my feet. I have a pair of rockers and they are working fairly well. I think my feet are always going to be sore after a 12 hr shift but these seem to be working for me

Back in my waitressing days I swore by Sass brand. They were the ugliest style, but they saved my feet and back.

Try some Crocs, not expensive and worked for me when Rebok's, New Balances and Birks didn't. Man, I've spent a lot on crappy shoes![/quoteBeen there, done that...Nike, New Balance, Skecher. Crocs are the best (for your feet and your wallet!!)

I think mine are called Quarks, made by Nursemates...slip on. I have flat-feet and I never met a more comfy shoe. Cost me $40 at LIfe Uniform.

This list is actually for running shoes, but that was what I always had to wear because of really high arches and severe underpronation. It always seemed that I had more foot pain than other people (although how do you ever really accurately compare your own discomfort to that of others?) Even as a child, I would start complaining about my feet hurting when we were out shopping with my mother much sooner than my siblings did. As an adult, I discovered why. The right shoes really will help alot.

I'm having foot surgery...I have a bunion and hammer toe on my left foot. My right foot is in better shape. I find that when I'm on my feet less that my feet feel better. I try to minimize my walking. My surgery will come this Fall.

I was wearing sneakers and my feet kept aching, I got some Nursemates with and they feel much better, like i've got a lot of cushion under my heels, I have really high arches so I think they feel better. The kind of shoes that are right for you might not be right for everyone, so you may have to try different kinds. i think support hose also help my legs and feet feel better, although they can feel hot when you're running around. My Acupuncturist reccommended changing my shoes and sock half way through my shift and massaging each one for one to two mins before, at halfway through and after each shift.
As someone said earlier, it is trial and error, what works for one may not another, and what works now may not in 6 mo. Always pay attention to your body and do not let pain in your feet and lower legs go untreated.

I have really flat feel and have to wear a custom made orthotic, which has made a huge difference. I can wear just about anything BUT Nursemates, which just kill my feet. However, Sketchers work the best for me.
