I would like to know what the cut off for the nursing school drug tests is. Is it the standard 50ng/ml cut off? Or is it a 15-20ng/ml cut off? I've been clean and decided to keep marijuana out of my life for good, but i've been clean for only 1 month so far after being a chronic (1.5g/day of marijuana) user for 2 years straight. My drug test is either October or November. Also, i'm a 21 year old female, 215lbs, 5'2". I tested myself with a first check at home drug test and it came up as negative and their cut off is 50ng/ml. PLEASE HELP ME.

There is no "nursing school" drug test. Any school can use any test with any cut off.

Two things:
Firstly, as far as I know, schools of nursing DO NOT drug test their students. Rather, the clinical sites that the school is affiliated with require drug tests. I may be splitting hairs here, but I think it's an important distinction. For instance, in some BSN programs, you won't have clinical rotations until your second year, so you likely wouldn't be drug tested until then. In my program, we had clinical rotations every term, so you had to pass a drug test for each new institution you were at.
Secondly, nothing is truly going to alleviate your anxiety over this until you pass the drug test. If I told you a certain cutoff, there's still nothing more you can do except stop using marijuana (or try to cheat the test!), which you already have.

My program drug tested us once we were accepted....not the clinical facilities we were placed at. You had to pass in order to keep your spot in the program.
Dang, that's bizarre to me. My mistake!
Mine too.

I honestly don't even remember a drug test until I was hired.

So, you've know for how long you wanted to become a nurse and NOW you decide to worry about showing up positive for pot? AND to boot, you were chronic for the past 2 years and you've only been clean for 1 month?
You need to seriously gauge how important this step really is for you. Somebody who really valued the journey they are (hopefully) about the embark on, would've taken care of this issue a long time ago.
Not only that, keep in mind once (and if) you become a nurse, you're subject to random drug tests at any time. Are you going to be able to keep it under check?
Just some things to think about..................

All very true. You don't want to spend the time and money on nursing school only to have it ripped out from under you over a misstep.
Check out the recovery forum. It only takes one tiny incident to turn your life into a living hell. Make sure you're done for good before you get going with school. Don't count on being lucky or strategic with your drug tests.

most of the time, they only drug test you when you are accepted into the program, and then you can do or partake in whatever activities you want after you pass that test because they never test you again.

This is extraordinarily terrible advice.
I'm hoping OP is responsible enough to know not to show up under the influence during any clinical lol, but afaik, my program only tests you once in your first semester.
