Nursing Games is taking its toll

I'm finding it very surprising how many people are dropping out of the program. If this was the hunger games, that cannon would have gone off every day, maybe even several times a day. I look around and think about someone I wanted to to ask a question and they're gone! Did you have the same experience? It sucks to see so many people drop so fast this semester.

We've lost 2, and I didn't even notice the second one was gone for an entire week. I'm waiting to see who's left next week because we have our midterm conferences and, if anyone's struggling, that would be a good time to leave.

Yes people are gone fast. We started with 80 and after the second semester we had 48. We have gained 12 LPN's/EMT's for the last year. Last year there was a total of 92 starting/LPN's and 28 graduated. This is the worst semester, where we we lose the most they said. I am just holding on and hoping that I am here at the end of it:)

I am in the evening/weekend class at my school and we lost 2 within the first 4 weeks of class. Now we're down to 8 students.

We started with about 25 2 1/2 quarters ago and are down to 15.

33 down to 15 in one semester

Wow, y'all have lost a lot of classmates! We've lost one out of 40 so far. We'll probably be losing another one by the end of the semester.

We have lost 3 out of 30 so far. There are 3 or 4 who have told me they are barely having on this semester so we may lose a few more then.

I think we lost around 15 of the 75. The final was the deciding factor. Some made it cause they did really well. Others didn't cause they just didnt get a high enough score to pull that average up. Now it's clinical time just praying I make it through.

Yep the losses can be brutal! 1st semester we started with 30 and by May were down to 7. Now in my next to last semester, we have had some LPN's & students who previously failed out join us, and we have 14. Hopefully everyone makes it!

OUr class of 30 has lost 4 since the start of school August 20th. 2 of them didn't even make it til clinicals. It's really sad not just because of the enormous amount of work it took them to get there, but now there's 4 empty sopts that could have been filled with 4 people who really deserved and wanted to be there...people who were rejected and are faced with having to wait another year to try again. Of course, you never know if THOSE people would have made it either, but...ya know.

i know of many girls in my program who were gone the first 8 weeks. and lost a few more after the second session. im doing the best in nursing school than i have at any other school. im loving it!
