CA- Overwhelmed . 63 in-house right now. Let’s just say we ran out of body bags two days ago, my patient got the last high flow oxygen unit yesterday, ran out of pulse ox finger probes today, 74 staff are quarantined and positive for COVID, 104 staff quarantined for exposure at work....

I'm so sorry ?
I have been a wreck lately. Tonight I had paramedics at my house I couldn't breath and I refuse to die of Covid 19! They said : take your anti anxiety meds. .
I did.
I am still scared ?
on edit I feeling better o2 in upper 90s
180+ inpatient. Interestingly we have some patients who have been with us long enough that they no longer test positive for COVID and thus no longer "count" toward our Covid numbers....but are still in critical condition on a vent.
I have quit social media other than Allnurses and Instagram a couple times a week. I can't keep looking at it all the time. It's literally starting to impact my every day frame of mind.

What state are you in?
My unusual situation is that I am working in a state psych hospital that has had an outbreak of covid that peaked in April. Our geriatric unit was hit hard and 6 out of 27 long term patients died.
We have lots of positives in the rest of the hospital and these patients are kept separate from the other patients, but most of them are not very sick.
I am working temporarily to assist with the problem. They call us the COVID nurses.
