Hi. I was just wondering what your ER management did for you for nurses week? Gifts, money, lunches!? Well my ER gave us a big fat NOTHING!! Management said "there is ER nurses week so we r not celebrating nurses week". Oh and week got a crappy coffee mug last year for er nurses week!! Ughhhj!!!
We got a water bottle and some chocolate. I'm fairly new but management seems to really come through in supporting the nursing staff on the floor.-emerjensee
I'm not ER but on med/surg, our mgr gave us all one piece of peppermint patty taped to a folde piece of copy paper. A lotta thought went into that. I personally NEVER eat chocolate-covered mints. That day, I found out that I wasn't the only one. Last year, it was a pencil taped to the paper. Hello!!!! We're computerized! We barely use ink! What the heck are we gonna do with pencils????!?!!!!? There's no wonder our patients treat us with an utter lack of respect; they're only imitating what they see others do.
Got nothing.Don't want anything.
Ice cream socials and pizza parties? All set, thanks.
Now if the CEO wants to come down and help transport pts on a busy day, or asks what can be done to improve things, then acts on it.....
I wish there was a LOVE TO DEATH button... hee hee
We got t-shirts with hospital logo on it for "Nurses/employee Appreciation Day".
We were given lunch everyday... with food set aside for the evening/night shifts. Our ONA rep ordered everyone really nice tote bags, the hospital gave us keychains... and our ER doc just bought my lunch. I should remember to thank everyone, it seems I've been spoiled! I do love this hospital!
