Nurses and Coffee

Published

I know this is random, but I was just sitting here thinking about coffee...then I started to wonder if any nurses out there like coffee and starbucks as much as I do :) I know a lot of nurses have to work crazy hours, and I was just wondering if you need coffee to function at those odd hours.

If you do like coffee/starbucks, what's your favorite drink from there?

Starbucks is expensive coffee. I either brew it myself or drink instant.

I am one of the only people I know who DOESNT really drink coffee. I like it alright, and I will..but just plain old black and strong for me...usually if I'm camping or something. I will drink a chai if pulling a night shift or it's a cold winter morning. Nothing like getting cracked out on dark chocolate covered espresso beans for a housecleaning energy jolt...

and I've just gotta say it.

I like my coffee like I like my men....ground up and in the freezer.

All hail Starbucks! Love their White Chocolate Mocha, and if done right, nothing is better than their Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha (at Christmas)

I used to be a barista! Got me hooked on coffee and coffee snobbery! xo

I love coffee from World Market, especially the Amalfi Coast espresso roast. I grind it fine and run it through my regular coffee maker..soo much flavor :yeah: I love Dunkin Donuts coffee also. I'm in Tucson, AZ and we have 3 locations in town. I used to get a cup every morning on my way to clinical!

...I may be a freak of nature.

I hate coffee. Detest it. Coffee smells like burnt hair and tastes like singed popcorn.

This is not to say I dislike caffeine - Great Scott, no! I bring a thermos of tea to work... imbibe unhealthy amounts of diet Pepsi... but never coffee.

I was traumatized as a child by the frequent, sudden invasions of the bathroom by a parent whose coffee was "going right through" them, and could not understand why a person might drink it deliberately

I dont drink coffee.............BUT I do like like Starbuck drinks, and Im so predictable. Winter=Caramel Apple Cider, Summer=Strawberry Lemonade

yess, i have an unhealthy relationship with caffeine of all sorts... coffee, tea, sugar free red bull & diet pepsi. sorry, kidneys.

since ive started my 1st nursing job, ive become a java monster & also require it on days off before doing anything involving interactions with other human beings.

my tastes arent complicated...

coffee @ home or gas station coffee? 16oz with soymilk/3 creamers & splenda. caribou coffee, starbucks or a local shop? venti/large cafe latte with soy milk & splenda. i am a big fan of a soy chai tea latte, but not to get me going.

I worked full-time at a desk job during nursing school. Having a Starbucks downstairs from my job was a Godsend. I only get the coffee, with lots of room for cream and sugar. I occasionally asked if they did IVs. No one got that.

My current job is about 2 miles from the nearest Starbuck's, but the gas station quickie mart down the street has a wide variety of surprisingly good coffee.

Same here, but at Peet's, not Starbucks.

Oh, I'll fit right into this world!

Hopeless coffee addict.

I do like coffee from McD's because it's Newman's Own, but lately the trend is buying bags of DD & making it at home.

Unless I'm out of the house & need an emergency fix. lol :dzed:

I've never been too into Starbucks coffee, but considering there's a new drive through nearby, I have given it more attempts.

The coffee frappuccino will get you up & running good from what I've experienced. :lol2:
