I honestly don't think I would have made it through nursing school without coffee. Seriously. Coffee from the dining hall before and to take to class, Dunkin' Donuts runs before every clinical, coffee breaks during studyfests.
I love Starbucks. For my senior preceptorship, there was a Starbucks right across the street from my hospital, which was a godsend. Especially for overnights. My favorite drink ever is the eggnog latte (only around holidaytime), but I like the iced caramel machiattos for the warmer months.
Coffee black 4 cups before work and at least 2 cups at work. I work nights, sometimes wish I could run it IV.
It's not often I envy my patients, but I've hung a few caffeine IVs.
I like my coffee like my women: old, cold, and bitter. Fortunately, I'm a nurse, so no shortage of either.
My favorite Starbucks is a grande black, but I did recently jump headlong into the 1990's and buy a cappucino maker. I like Starbucks cappucino, plain, too. I'm not overly impressed with Starbucks, though. You ask for a mocha java and they think you mean a cup of cocoa.
One of my old, cold, bitter friends was telling me about a local cafe that serves Blue Mountain coffee for a gawdawful lot of money, but still cheaper than airfare to Jamaica. So I'll have to check that out.

I know this is random, but I was just sitting here thinking about coffee...then I started to wonder if any nurses out there like coffee and starbucks as much as I do :) I know a lot of nurses have to work crazy hours, and I was just wondering if you need coffee to function at those odd hours.
If you do like coffee/starbucks, what's your favorite drink from there?
