  1. Omg.........How am I going to make it through this whole thread if only the 1st post put me in stitches like that? These are classic too. LOL
  2. Never heard of that one before. I would imagine the Febreeze method would work, as long as a soaking in a liquid wouldn't somehow affect the texture of the lumen. Trying to think of what else might. I'll get back to you if I think of something better. You should officially change your name to Stethoscope King, btw. Congrats on your Littman!! :)
  3. Added to the list. Now I'm confused from the things I've heard. What to really go with..... Sketchers seem to be a pretty popular choice for comfort, but when I heard about the Asis running shoes & walking on air, it really caught my attention. Now I have to throw Nikes into the mix? Always great to know, though, in a life where you're on your feet so much. Gotta go with the best. My feet definitely do.
  4. P.S. It would be interesting to find out how so many people found the site. I'm lucky enough to have stumbled upon this YouTube advertisement. :) I had become so gung-ho about nursing, but didn't know where to take this new love...
  5. So, my bf built a beautiful home in Hiram, and though I'd like to convince him to relocate somewhere warmer , and actually may be able to in the near future, but I DO love the state & have too much respect for his pride & joy. I currently reside in the Boston area. But facilities in that area seem so sporifice. Not sure how tough it would be to find good Nursing jobs if I lived there. Anyone from the area that could chime in on what it's like? Would be greatly appreciated. Even a commute to somewhere like Freedom wouldn't be too bad either. Long commutes = Sanity for me. Edit to add: Not yet a nurse, but looking into all future possibilities.
  6. HAPPILY addicted!! :) Actually not sure I've ever encountered a site so addicting. Thankful for this place everyday. I've never seen a board w/ professionals & aspiring professionals that was quite like it. :) Just one of the best!
  7. Your story really touched me. So sweet, & I know how it pulls on your heartstrings. Those patients clearly adored you. They will adjust & you will adjust, & best of luck with the new position.
  8. It just has to be quoted because it's some of the best words of advice I've ever read. Voice of experience & strength. I am sorry you are experiencing this type of behavior & environment. Learning to deal with it MOST effectively is key through rough times like these. Have confidence you can do so & that such things do/will pass. And along with a strong sense of self & assertiveness, if you're a positive person, take that positivity & run with it, even in the face of adversity much as you can. The negative ones can't stand that. :)
  9. I love that we have nurses here from Children's & MGH. (I know there is no place like it. Gotta love Boston for being top notch in medicine. ) I cruised around one night a few weeks ago just admiring this, getting out of the car & taking all kinds of pics of our med/pharmacy school & hospital buildings. :) Really quite some place, this city, and one of such prestigious medical standings & history. I know a few nurses who have worked at either/or, & all around the ages of the posters here from those same places, so more than likely you know some of em'. I think what makes Boston so great for nurses is all the different hospitals & their level of rank, pay seems great compared to so many other places one could live, and there's quite the vibe around this city with a deep history in medicine. I absolutely love Boston, proud to be from the area, and so lucky to live so close.
  10. Cerebral regions that control temperature: High Power Air Conditioner. -(Heating = Posterior hipothalamo [hypothalamus]. Anterior hipothalamo [hypothalamus] = Cooling. Features of Argyll-Robertsons Pupils: Argyll-Robertsons Pupil is like a prostitute. - (She/he will accommodate, but will not react. Pupil still accommodates, but doesn'treact to light. Pupil is a common sign in syphilis, which is often carried by prostitutes) Causes of red eye: GO SUCK - (Glaucoma, Orbital disease, Scleritis, Uveitis, Conjunctivitis, Keratitis.) Corneal Stromal Dystrophies: Marilyn Monroe Gets High in LA - (Macular: Mucopolysaccharide, Granular: Hyaline, Lattice: Amyloid) What are the names of the cranial nerves: Oh Oh Oh Oh To Touch and Feel Very Green Vegetables, ah Heaven! - (Olfactory, Optic, Oculomotor, Trochlear, Trigeminal, Abducens, Facial, Vestibulocochlear, Glossopharyngeal, Vagus, Accesory, Hypoglossal) And others I don't even think would be appropriate for here. Haven't made any of my own up yet, but that will be fun, and helpful.
  11. Important Tricyclics: I Have to Hide, the CIA is after me. Clomipramine, Imipramine, Amitriptyline. If want the next 3 worth knowing, the DND is also after me: Desipramine, Nortriptyline, Doxepin. I love Mnemonics.
  12. I heart OR Nurses. :redpinkhe No matter how anyone may want to argue it up & down, I could never not see it as real nursing. Takes a special type at that.
  13. Two new gems to add to the list - P90X & Hip Hop Abs. :anpom: And you gotta be hardcore for P90X.
  14. Not a nurse, but have always owned a nursing drug book. I seem to be a Mosby's fanatic since my first Mosby's nursing drug reference guide. Now I always trust them for the best publications, and if I'm ever unsure of what to go with, I go with Mosby's. I want to check out Davis's now, though.
  15. Hey, when I replied to this I actually thought it was the other thread I was posting to on MPI, lol, my apologies. Happy I stumbled upon it, though. I was wondering how possible it would be for me to cram MYSELF into the May program before it started. Still don't think it's possible for me. Haven't taken the TEAS yet & all. Finding out if anything can be done in my situation is top priority in the morning. Here is the link to the other thread. https://allnurses.com/lpn-lvn-nursing/medical-professional-institute-457405.html Here's hoping for the best for you too! :)
