Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!
:balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :balloons:
I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
For those of you applying - GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! I remember that huge relief of having it in their hands at the school - and then worrying that they would misplace it. Then there was the 2-3 months of waiting for an answer. I don't smoke but began to think about it during those few months!!!!!:chuckle
Kind of like I feel now!!!!!! I know I can do this because I want it so much - but I am totalling freaking out when I look at the syllabus and see all the information we have to know before test 1 - and that is just for lecture!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK I know I must get control of myself here!!
OK Amy - watch out with that "old" comment:chuckle :chuckle :chuckle I have you all beat - I hit the big "40" this summer. But I am still a cool chick - well, at least I'm trying to convince my 12 year old of that! LOL!!
Im proud of you ... I think I told you once you would be a RN before me....:crying2:
:crying2:
:crying2:
... good job girl....
Good luck to you too Spill! We don't think think you sound silly....unless we all sounded/sound silly. :chuckle
It is an exciting time, and a huge occomplishment to get to the point of applying to nursing school.
Signed,
Mi'Shelle, SN., ECC (FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYY) hahahahhahaaha
Spill,
I don't think that's obsessive at all. I did the SAME thing - I even got "signture return receipt". I wasn't gonna say anything about it because I didn't want anyone here to think I was crazy. Heck, I couldn't even wait until today to send it - I had to drive to the 24 hour post office last night.
Amy
Amyindallas: I got my packet in the mail, I even paid extra and sent it certified mail ( I think I"m a bit obsessive), I felt it was $5.63 well spent.OK, Amy, I'm a nervous wreck.....I hope we will get to meet in person at orientation (fingers crossed) for Spring 07 students. Good luck!
I know that might sound silly to you all that are starting in a few days! Bear with us ok?
Best wishes to you all on your first day as SNs!!!!!
Jaxia,
That is so bad! I am so sorry that you are having car window problems. I really hope you can get it fixed and are able to get to Ft. Worth and pick up your transcript. Is that the only thing you have left to complete your packet? If you can't get it fixed do you have someone who could ride with you and sit in the car while you go in and get your transcript or something? Please keep us posted.
Amy
Yay Amy! That is so cool :) Congrats to you for being on the ball!As for me, I'm trying to figure out how to get my transcript from TCC. I have to go to downtown Fort Worth to pick it up, but my car window messed up the other day, and it won't roll up. I don't feel good about driving my car and parking it in downtown Fort Worth with the window down, especially since it might rain! I have an appt tomorrow to have it looked at. Keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn't rain tomorrow! (or, that it at least waits until AFTER I have dropped my car off
)
Okay, I have another question for those of you who have completed semester 1 or beyond. Are there grants, scholarships, or loans (other than Stafford loans) that are available once you are IN the program? I know that Briana mentioned a private loan for $30K but I don't think I need that much. I'm just curious as to what is available besides Stafford loans. I just want to be prepared and have a "plan B" since I won't have the security of my full time job anymore.

Yes, there is an info packet about it at ECC. And I think they go over financial options at the big orientation at ECC. There are also other scholarship opportunities at DCCCD. For example, I won a small scholarship last semester that was open for every major.
Katie
I had heard there was an information seminar going on today at 1:00. Is this still happening?
As far as I know. I plan on going.....I have to see if the syllabus is available yet in the bookstore, and check the bulletin board in the T building for last minute changes anyway.
OMG.....this is the last weekend!

Do you log in every 5 minutes or so, like a true freak?
I know on the first day of classes, I start logging in 10 minutes before the online classes are activated because "the server clock might be set to a different time." I'm hopeless.
How do you like ecampus, overall? Personally, I'm not a fan. To me, the navigation isn't really intuitive. It was really hard to figure out when class assignments were due.
