OK everyone!! I am posting and asking for MAJOR prayers!! I found out on Thursday that I have a tumor on my thyroid:o . Then Friday I had to go and take the math class and the test - made a 100 even though I couldn't really concentrate - I just kept feeling that stupid thing in my throat everytime I swallowed! At church last night I met a lady who works with an ENT and she is going to get me an appointment on Tuesday (I don't have anything scheduled at school that day) so that I can get my throat scoped to see exactly what we are dealing with. Needless to say I am having a hard time focusing on reading all those pages for lecture. The only thing I know for certain is at some point I will have to have surgery to have the tumor and at least a portion of my thyroid removed - like I have time for that!!!!!
So - PRAY it is not cancer and that I will be able to finish out this semester with the friends I have met/made. PRAY that I will be able to focus on my studies and not that stupid thing that feels stuck in my throat everytime I swallow. PRAY that surgery will go well and that the schedule will not interfere too much with school.
Thanks,
Leette
Fun,
I have a question for you. I know that you are / or were considering UTA for BSN. I was looking at their RN-BSN and then decided to try to find something online and I have now decided to look at UTA again. I read in an old post that you completed CHEM 1411 at DCCCD. Does CHEM 1411 meet UTA's CHEM requirement? I see on UTA's equivalency chart CHEM 1406 and CHEM 1407 for DCCCD. Also, did you take any other CHEM class before you took the CHEM 1411 or did you just go straight into CHEM 1411? I have never taken a Chemisty class and am just wondering how hard it is for someone with no background. In high school I took an Intro. to Chemistry and Physics but nothing in Chemistry since then, everything has been Biology.
Amy
On this page, http://www.uta.edu/nursing/rntobsn/rn-prerequisites.htm, it says "general or higher".
I did call and ask if it was ok before I took 1411.
Now, by the time I get there, who knows what the requirements will be. I can say that several programs require I think, Organic Chem.
I didn't take a different chem before, but I did take chem in high school as well.

Leette,
This is Stephanie.....I'm praying for you as of right now. Since you told me on Friday about this I've been pretty upset too. You have become a close friend really fast and I care for you dearly. I believe that everything will be ok and all of this will pass. I will see you tomorrow and will continously be praying for you!!
Love ya,
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie, welcome to AllNurses.com. Are you starting Fall '06 as well? ECC campus?
Jaxia,I am SO glad that you were able to get everything together and get your packet turned in on time. I was getting kind of worried there for a min. I am glad that you, Spill, and I waited until the end to turn in our packets, that means we only have to wait 6 weeks to find out if we are accepted. Waiting 2-3 months would be so awful!
Amy
Yeah, I procrastinate too much. It will get me into trouble some day! I'm glad we all waited, too. These next few weeks are going to be stressful, to say the least!

So, I've had to check in.
First of all, CONGRATS FUNNIE. :balloons:
Was there any interesting thing going on at the SNA meeting? Did you get any info about your clinical instructor? It's good that you have met some of your clinical classmates. :)
For the book debound: have any of you tried Kinkos? I think they do it.
I hope to see most of you on Monday. :) I'll just take one last walk around the National Mall tomorrow morning and then get back to Dallas.
