No letter today... still waiting...

(truth be told, I'd be excited by an El Centro/NL letter, but I am hoping for a Mount St Joes letter....)

Congrats again Funnie

Funnie,

I have no idea. It's a direct entry Masters (MN) program, the same one ELKMN attends in Cincinnati. It is 4 semesters/15 months long from May to August. It starts in a few weeks.

I am short one pre-req, but they are very good about working with students. It is very expensive, but it sounds like SUCH a good fit for me, and if my SO moves to Indy I can see him most weekends.

Wow, how cool is that! :D I hope you do get in!

I know this is a dry thread....but 'they'll' come around soon. :lol2:

I went to Half-Price Books today & picked up three books (only spent $19). :lol2:

I'm not sure whether or not they will help me in nursing school, but I figure they are good reading to get used to looking at nursing diagnosis/careplan 'language'. The books are Manual of Nursing Diagnosis, Wellness - Nursing Diagnosis for Health Promotion, and Cultural Health Assessment.

The cultural book tells you what to expect from different cultures....things like eye contact, touching, health care beliefs, death rites, and families roles in hospital care...very interesting!!!!

I won Fluid and Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy and Assessments Made Incredibly Easy from Ebay.....what a bargain!! (Thank you to whoever sold 'em cheap!) :chuckle They're 2nd edition, which isn't too old. I don't feel like paying for 3rd edition. lol

I have my reading material & math study material for the nursing math test, and as soon as I finish my GOVT class, I'm taking the summer off to get ready for nursing school! :lol2:

Those books will be VERY helpful for you. What a great deal!! Especially that Fluids and Electrolytes one!!! I would also recommend buying a manual of diagnostic and laboratory tests. It will really help with writing the rationales on the nursing care plan. I know that's a ways off but I thought I would mention it while I was thinking about it. :lol2:

Hey all!

Fun... I have to say I am truly amazed at how ahead of the game you are:lol2: ! Books, books, and more books - I bet those will be a great help though - and you can't beat the prices at half-price!!!!! My kids and I love that store. Right now I can't see above my Micro and A&P books and lab books and study guides!

Are you going to try and do that "pilot" program? My friend that was also accepted is going to (I think). I'm not - my kids are still pretty young and I want us to have some time without so much studying until the real studying begins.
