Congrats to all of us that were accepted to the nursing program at either campus for Fall '06!!!!

I'm going to be at the NLC campus! See you in June for orientation!
Also, congrats for making it to the next semester to all new 2nd - 4th semester NLC/ECC student nurses & congrats to the graduates! :balloons:
Good luck to everyone!
I picked up my scantron for my math test Saturday as well.![]()
Did y'all have to show a receipt or what in order to take the class????? I scheduled & paid for mine over the phone....no receipt!
You won't need a scantron for the math test, and she will call roll so there's no need for a receipt. :)
FUN - Oh my goodness - thanks for all the info on the PDA Software ! My head is spinning just looking at your list:lol2: :lol2: ! I have trouble making up my mind sometimes too; especially with all the software that is available. My wonderful hubby bought me the Palm Tungsten E2 with an additional 1 Gig SD card as a total surprise. Of course if I had known he was going to do such a sweet thing I would have given him hints to make sure he got one of the bundle deals that included the software:idea:
! I may just download several trial copies and then decide. I have the Davis Drug Guide trial version and I really like that one - but I don't have anything to compare it to either.
As far as subjects on the notebook thing - I only have 2 right now. One for lecture and then another one for clinicals/skills. I'll try to decide later if I need to break down the clinical/skills one into two. I basically have it broken down by the 3 official classes in which we are enrolled. I'm not sure how this little system is going to work - I just figured I would give it a shot and see. I'm not sure whether or not to unbind and 3-hole punch my books and then spiral bind the study guides. Since I'll be riding on the train I'll have study time and it would be easier to not have to deal with a big book - but I don't want to have to staple the book pages together that I will be working on since I will also be needing them separate later on. I may just wait and see how the first week or so goes.
Sorry about your syllabus - at EC we don't yet have our Freshman Clinical Handbook! Well, as of last Thursday it wasn't available. I'm going down on Friday for my math class so I'll check on it then - too much to do this week with my kids in school as of today!!!!
E-campus is definitely under the weather today!!!!!!!!! It won't let me in either. :deadhorse
Thanks, GTChick01. :) I thought I read that a scantron was needed. At least it was cheap.
DreamBelieveSucceed, there are all kinds of software for Palms (not all medical). PDAgold has some for Palm, but a huge amount for Pocket PC (for anyone reading this who has one).
I had to get some freeware games, and other utilities. haha
Games are goodI was wishing my cell phone had better games on it when I was sitting in the dentist's office waiting for my appt for over an hour!
Fun - Do you think a laptop and PDA are too much?
I use my laptop all the time anyway. DH uses the PC, kiddos have their own....I use my laptop.
Someone else going to get both....that depends on your want and money, use, etc. haha A PDA is good for clinical use, etc, but obviously, you can't use the laptop there, but as of right now, the books are only available on CD, not PDA forms. (That 'bites'.)
If there was a choice to purchase the books in book & PDA form, or book & CD form, I probably would have chosen the book & PDA and may not have purchased a new laptop right now. (Although it was a can't pass it up deal.)
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you can afford it, and you want it, do it....who cares what anyone else thinks. At the same time, if you can't afford it, it is definitely not needed.
Too much for one, not enough for another.
Games.....good for stress relief.
Well, it's official. I just got back from the 24 hour post office in Dallas. I dropped off my admission packet! I FINALLY got the okay on my last question this afternoon and after checking everything for what seemed like 100 times I sealed the envelope. I feel so anxious and excited. Seriously, I have been waiting YEARS for this moment. I know it's just the beginning but I can't help but feel excited to think that all this hard work is paying off. Did any of you guys feel this way?
Now, I will just keep my fingers crossed until Oct. 15. That's only about 6 weeks away...it will be here before I know it.
Jaxia & Spill --- I better be seeing a "I finally dropped off my admission packet" post from you 2 pretty soon!
Amy
Good luck, Amy!!!!! :balloons: :balloons:
For myself, I knew that even getting to the point of applying the first time was a major milestone...one that was a long time coming.
I wish you the best, and hope to see good news in Oct. :)

I figured you could relate to me. We both are a little older (but we are NOT old!!!) and have wanted to do this for a very long time.
Are you getting anxious about Monday? You mentioned something about a math test and a scantron. I know you have finished Stats. What is the math test for?
