Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
I've read that too but how can we practice here if we're not registered? Besides i've got my permanent residency already and i've got kids.. I couldn't just easily go home and comply with that. Maybe they would just make us do training hours with the hospital coz with the old process their onp was longer for those who haven't practised for quite a while.
I have called NMC today and asked an update with regards to my documents. I am from the old scheme and requested them to transfer some of my documents to the new scheme. The agent handed my call to Ms. ***********, overseas registration offer, and she told me that it is their system's fault of why the transitioned documents are not reflecting to my NMC online account. I also asked her if I will be getting an email automatically if my application will be put in assessment queue, and she said that unfortunately they don't send emails if the applicant is already in the decision queue and that I should mail them asking specifically for it. The only outstanding documents I needed is my TOR/RLE forms from my nursing school and I just checked 30 minutes ago and there's a note beside it that it has been received! I think talking to NMC's call agents can be really inconsistent and emailing them is a much better method of getting info from them.
Anyone from CTN-IPAMS who is currently on the Full Application and Assessment stage? I'd like to ask a few things about the process under their company. Thanks!
I'm currently in the decision queue, so I'll try to answer what I can. (I only know 1 other applicant from CTN-IPAMS and he already had a DL.)
Hi freakazoa, BSN, RN
Nice to know someone from the same boat! Did they also ask for your NMC account username and password? I was kind of hesitant to share it to them because there had been instances (this applies to a separate licensure from another country) where a username and password for the nurse registration is asked by the agency, only for that agency to change the details so as to hold the applicant with them. I know IPAMS has a good track record, and maybe it's just me being paranoid, so i just thought I'd just ask.
How long did the other applicant waited for his DL?
Hi Malakite
Good luck on your exam!

Hi 072bomi and Kizmwah
If I may say something about this. When I was just starting this process this was a concern for me too as I have stopped working as RN when I came here 2008. I called up NMC about this and the reply was although verbally as long as you pass both tests then that proves your competency. I hope that still applies. I think it does because you got your DL already kizmwah and obviously they have assessed when you stopped working as seen on the employer reference forms with the start and end date.
I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck to us.

Hi Kizmwah, I read NMC guideline that you must practice at least 450hrs in the previous three years. Do you know if you have to attend a class or something to complete your registration?
"If the applicant has been qualified for longer than this, they must have also practised for at least 450 hours in the previous three years. We define 'practising' as working in some capacity by virtue of their registration as a nurse or midwife. Practice can include administrative, supervisory, teaching, research and managerial roles as well as providing direct patient care. This can also include volunteer work as long as any practice is registered. If the applicant has not undertaken any duties as a registered nurse or midwife in the three years prior to making their application, they should contact us to discuss available options."
