Anybody here who took the Pearsons Vue NMC exam? How was it? TY!
Hi 072bomi and KizmwahIf I may say something about this. When I was just starting this process this was a concern for me too as I have stopped working as RN when I came here 2008. I called up NMC about this and the reply was although verbally as long as you pass both tests then that proves your competency. I hope that still applies. I think it does because you got your DL already kizmwah and obviously they have assessed when you stopped working as seen on the employer reference forms with the start and end date.
I hope this helps a little bit. Good luck to us.
Thanks! That's what i was thinking too. I actually didn't bother to call nmc to ask about it since i have some friends who were here for more or less 5 yrs and took the onp before. The only difference is that they were given 9-12 mos instead of 3-6 mos to finish it. So maybe with us, we will be required to be on supernumery longer or complete a number of training hours. Whatever it is, as long as we can get out pin! 😄
With NMC's last update.. Which i don't know the date.. (Just got the link from one of the comments here) there are 200 + who has booked to take the exam. Only 6 has taken it so far and 5 out of 6 made it!
Can you please share the link? Five out of six is a good result. I hope those who have had their OSCE will come forward and share their experiences :)
260 pala completed applications, 47 authorized to sit osce.. Try this link.. http://www.nmc.org.uk/globalassets/sitedocuments/registration/overseas/common-issues---overseas.pdf?
Hi melcahussy!I really don't know when they would start assessing the documents but from what i have read from comments here, it seems like they do it only when they receive everything. I've stopped working as a nurse since i came here and that's almost 5 yrs now. That's why i was so happy when i got my dl. Thanks and God bless to all of us aspiring UK nurses. :) will surely update as my way of saying thanks to everybody in this forum.
congrats on getting your DL! Id want to know how long you were in nursing service before you stopped for 5 years?
Hi thesportyscribe! Yes, I received my DL last May and I waited for about 1 month for it. I have been waiting for the COS since this month. I got the job on June and already had my DL, so right after my appointment, I complied with all the requirements for deployment.
Are you for KCH at Omanfil too?
Feel free to contact me at melnic05[at]gmail.com :)
