Does anyone know how long it takes before they give you the ok to book the retake for cbt? I failed my first attempt Friday but can't figure out how to book for the next attempt. I know you can take it any sooner than 28 days but can you not go ahead and book it?

Sorry to hear that.

Once it is stated that one must wait for a period of 28 days, then it means there is no way to book before this time. It is possible too they might have locked your account during this period.

I would suggest you wait and book after the 28 days. Give NMC a call if you are unable to book after 28 days.

Please go over the Royal Marsden Manual of Clinical Nursing Procedures 9th Edition once again and solve the online questions after going over all topics. Go over drug calculations too.

All the best.

Thanks. I hate they make you wait to even rebook. I did review the RMM and all the questions I could find. I felt really good during the test but there were 4-5 that I didn't know. I'm wondering if it was the critical questions I missed more on. I'll re-read the RMM cover to cover next time. Hoping I get a pass then.

Yes, its 28 days after the exam. Make sure you are ready to take the exam since IF you fail your second attempt, you will have to wait for 6 months to retake CBT. Goodluck and dont overthink the questions

Dear all, just received my Decision Letter. Here is my timeline:

2016

26/12 - Documents sent by post

2017

02/01 - Documents arrived in London

16/01 - In the assessment queue - documents visible in the portal

14/03 - Further information required (the referee who signed my letter 2 was not a nurse)

19/03 - Application resubmitted

28/03 - New document visible in the portal

Here I had some conflictant information when calling the NMC - some attendants said I would be back to the end of the queue, others said it would be faster - 3 or 4 weeks

27/04/2016 - Decision letter

102 calendar days, 72 working days

Now, to the final challange: the OSCE!

My application took longer than the ones that I see related here. I have been working for 20 years as a nurse in my country, so perhaps the process was more complicated to be assessed. On the bright side, the NMC attendants were all kind and patient when giving me information.

I wish everyone has every success with their applications.

Hi there! I came across your post while searching for answers on my queries. I may have the same case as yours. My referee for my Employer reference 1 (current experience) is not a nurse/medical professional since I work as a project nurse in a Demolition/Construction company. Prior to this, I had an experience working in the hospital for about two years to which I will use as my second reference. I just wanna ask, do you think NMC will consider my application? I am already on full assessment and application stage and processing the needed documents as of the moment. I am a bit anxious that is why I have not yet submitted the required forms. Your advice is deeply appreciated. Thank You and God bless!
