  1. Hi thesportyscribe! Yes, I received my DL last May and I waited for about 1 month for it. I have been waiting for the COS since this month. I got the job on June and already had my DL, so right after my appointment, I complied with all the requirements for deployment. Are you for KCH at Omanfil too? Feel free to contact me at melnic05[at]gmail.com :)
  2. Hi NikkiFlores! I too am for KCH at Omanfil. I am also quite bewildered that the hospital has not yet forwarded me a job offer to sign, considering that I have already complied with the other required docs (OH and KCH occupational forms), visa docs (medical examand IOM cert) and have got an NMC DL. I assumed that this (job offer contract) would be the first document that I should be receiving from them and still now, I have yet to receive it. I keep making a follow up to the agency about this, and I still get the same response that they too have been waiting for KCH to send it. Regarding the COS, do you have any idea how long it would take the hospital to process it? and I see that they told you about the deployment date. I am just hoping that we all get to receive our COS well before the tentative deployment date.
  3. Hi Everyone, I just want to give you an update about my NMC registration. I am now about to take the OSCE, the NMC decision came to me last May 9th (sorry if it has taken me this long to write here, but I've been away). Sent all my docs during the last week of Feb and they received and assessed it mid-March. However, they required me to update one of my references so I had my application updated and had to wait another 15 working days for them to reassess which led me getting their decision on the 1st week of May. At this point, I thought I had gotten over waiting until I was informed and realized that my employer at Colchester was yet to apply for a permit to sponsor applicants here in the Phil and my agency told me that it would take a few months for them to do that. I was so bummed since it would mean that I had to wait to take the OSCE, because I cannot take the OSCE without a certificate of sponsorship (working visa requirement). I assume that everyone who was considered by the hospital at Colchester was informed about the local agency's plan B here (transfer their application to another hospital in Chelmsford) So, my question to everyone here is that - does authorization to take the OSCE have a validity period, if so, how long? (I remember that there was a required timeline for the assessment stage but I'm not sure for this stage, and I'm sorry for bringing this up here I have asked NMC but they just haven't responded yet.) Another thing is that, since I'm considering of finding other employers- perhaps anybody can refer me to one. I would be very interested to an employer within London, but those in the greater part of London or UK are appreciated as well. Thank you so much! I know that I have gotten a little out of the context of this thread but I really just want to reach out. I hope the admin won't kick me out for this :) By the way, feel free to send in your suggestions at nicoledelros(at)gmail(dot)com. Thanks!
  4. Hi kizmwah! Most of the people revised using the Royal Marsden Hospital Manual, but for my part, I just read the all the publications on the NMC and reviewed on infection control, pateint safety, and care for Dementia, Alzheimer's and Stroke. When do you plan to take your CBT? On the other hand, I am happy to know that you are from Colchester. I also applied for Colchester Hosp. from Medacs. But I'm still here in the Philippines. They won't deploy me once I am done with the Assessment. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. I'd be happy to chat with a future co-worker. Take care!
  5. Hi Kizmwah! I also applied for Colchester from Medacs. But I'm still here in the Philippines. They won't deploy me once I am done with the Assessment. Have you been working there as an HCA before you applied to Colchester? and have you taken your CBT?
  6. Hi forxtrotunicorns, When did you finish sending your docs? and have you received any feedback from them yet? Thanks
  7. Hi UK Gal, Just a question, I'm trying to bookmark this thread, but I can't seem to find the bookmark link/icon. Meanwhile, I have already sent all my needed docs, including the third-party docs. I'm wondering how many days or weeks it would take for them to review it, for us to hopefully move on to the OSCE.
  8. Hi UK Gal, I just checked mine today, and I was able to log-in without any issues. I have already submitted my application so, I cannot access it as it is under review. Perhaps it is just a temporary glitch. Try to log-in again later today, and if it still doesn't work after a few tries, consider calling them up about it. :)
  9. Hi gen88, After the passing the CBT, they let you pay the application fee (140) and then you get to start with the 'Full Application and Assessment Stage', where you fill it out with the necessary info regarding your personal details, nursing education, practice, work experience and good health. You also upload the certified copy of docs such as passport, birth cert., and etc. It is also here where you get to download the docs that you need to forward to respective people and offices for them to complete and send back to the NMC. About the OSCE, I haven't received any info. about it yet. I think they will tell us once we are cleared of the 'Full Application and Assessment Stage'. Hope this helps. :)
  10. Hi UK Gal, I saw the download link of the "declaration of good health" form from the 6th tab 'Good character and good health'- the download link is below the page, if it isn't there you better call up the NMC perhaps your page has a bug. Any way, I just sent this document along with my references docs with a trusted courier yesterday. I am a little bit anxious now. Question though, does the NMC really check on your references? I am asking since one of my reference (a doctor) will be travelling out of the country for the next 3 months, and he may be out of contact. Also, is it OK to have erasures on the form? Unfortunately, my Doctor made some typo errors while filling out the doc- 'Declaration of Good Health'. I hope everything all goes well now. Thank you :)
  11. Hi guys, took the test today and passed (Thanks Jah!) I do think that the best time to take it is now - the earlier the better. I firmly believe that what my friend told me earlier about the critical Qs is true. Cheers and see you in the UK!
  12. Anybody got news if they had REALLY got rid of the "essential/critical questions"? I just heard today from somebody who took the exam and passed who believed they did.
  13. Thank you so much for these. :)
  14. Hi guys, I have been following this thread since I too have been unsuccessful with my first attempt of the CBT and I am absolutely petrified to go through all that again. I have going through all the publications that I can find on the NMC site, except the 'track and trigger systems'. Can you please direct me to a link to it or a resource that I can go through it? Thank you so much in advance. I am planning to resit the exam next week and I really hope I can pass it this time, since I don't have enough time to wait for another 6 months. Cheers to everyone and hope we can all get there :)
