Night Shift Snack

Featured Replies

Greek yogurt, Kashi granola bars, fruit, cheese, almonds, green tea. And lots and lots of ice water!

ice water i find sometimes gets me through the night better than a coffee!

I love eating yogurt on the night shift. Also I bring tea to sip on during the night.

Enough water to get me to the finish line, but not a sip more than I need to get there because I want uninterrupted sleep after I cross the finish line.

Boiled egg and fruit most of the time.

Kind bars and Greek yogurt with berries

You guys are too danged healthy :cautious:

Diet coke, chips (love that salt), fruit snacks that have very little to do with actual fruit, and.... beef jerky.

Same here. Ice cold water keeps me awake plus a pincher of coffee

and fruits, veggies, yogurt, nuts...

Night shift wreaked havoc on my appetite.

There would be nights when my stomach was so upset that I could go the whole night with crackers and tea.

There were others when I would eat reasonably, have my "breakfast" and "lunch" with fruit or cheese in between.

Others? Madness. I was a human vacuum cleaner. If it was edible and on shared territory, it went into my mouth. Sometimes I would be lucky and there would be a great potluck around. Other times, I was scrounging for crumbs like junkie looking for the next hit. I was a black hole of baked goods, a usurper of salty snacks. There were nights I would awake and say, "I am Khali, destroyer of refrigerators."

Yeah, so, clearly I did not adapt well to night shift.

Almonds (they have honey cinnamon coated at Target that satisfy the sweet tooth), cheese strings, pistachios, pretzels, yogurt, Fig Newtons, grapes, hummus and crackers, iced citrus green tea (Lipton).
