New Mexico Licensure Question

Published

Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!

would recommend using currier like FedEX or UPS when sending to CGFNS

hi..im considering NM for my application, can i ask for your help regarding the fingerprinting form? i downloaded & printed the form on a hard card, do you think it will be accepted by the Dept of Public Safety?

hello... nagging questions again

is this the NCLEX application form for foreign schooled already?

http://www.bon.state.nm.us/forms/ExamApp.pdf

and does attaching a 2x2 picture needed? and if yes, must it be scanned or the picture itself attached?

and someone posted before that the requirements are

the TOR, and RLE. then the letter of certificate of eligibility from ur school. fingerprint card, the notarized forms.

what are the notarized forms?

and what is needed for the criminal background check?

and how long would NM give proof of passing NCLEX? would it be thru mail or must be received personally?

thanks!

Are you from the Philippines? Unfortunately, NBI does not accept/allow downloaded fp forms.

You can go to the US Embassy in Roxas Blvd, Mon-Fri, 10am up. Inform the gate guard that you are going to get a FP card for NCLEX. He'll direct you to the information window at the front. Inform the Info Officer of your purpose and show your completed NM application, if asked. He will then tell you to go to window X. The Officer at window X has a ready supply of NM FP cards, he'll give you 2 cards.

things i wish to share regarding processing of the nclex-rn application with the nm bon:

1. my att was issued in three weeks (after submission of a complete file and after my school submitted my tor and rle document) through e-mail so you can just print it out. so for anyone who’s wondering when he or she could receive it, i would suggest that you start reviewing now because it may arrive anytime soon. the maximum time for it to be issued though is three months.

2. when you send documents to the nm bon, indicate on the folder (on the bottom part ideally) what is inside. for example, you may write: nclex-rn application of a foreign graduate. so that whoever gets it knows which desk it has to land on easily. make sure also that your document can be tracked down so that you do not have to contact the office every time you have something delivered.

3. i called the office recently and was told that the release of passing results may take as long as seven weeks. so if your name doesn’t come up on the nm bon website right away, don’t panic. my name only got posted on their website close to three weeks after i wrote the exam. but of course there is a faster way of finding out the result through pearsonvue’s website for a fee of $7.95. when you pass the nclex, an actual license will also arrive to you through postal mail. at the same time, i also read from their brochure that if you get a failing mark, they will make every effort to advise you of the outcome by mail quickly.

4.the certificate of eligibility is not only for the us graduate. a foreign graduate may submit it too if he or she wants to do so.

5. do not feel frustrated if your e-mails are not answered. they still take note

of what you said. also, give them some time to answer your questions because they have a high volume of workload.

6. if you do not register with pearsonvue and do not pay up the testing fee (upon

the advice of the nm bon), you will not get your att. but note that you do not need to register unless you are told to do so by the board. otherwise, it’s only good for one year and if you do not get approval from them or if you do not get to test in one year, your money will be forfeited too.

7. your file with the board will only be active for one year. if you are not able

to comply with their requirements, you will have to reapply then.

8. fingerprint cards (2) are needed and may be downloaded through the nm

bon website. but, if you are in the philippines, you have to go to the us embassy in manila to get it and have your fp taken in nbi in manila too.

9. if you know that your school doesn’t have a reliable way of mailing out stuff,

coordinate with the registrar and ask a reliable courier to pick up your documents from your school.

10. further information about all these may be found at:

hello bonesgilmore. i got your pm. i'll try to answer your questions. if you have more questions, you can pm me or post them here so that you can pick up pointers and answers from everyone.

  • the forms that you need are in: new mexico board of nursing
  • print the application form and background check forms. the instructions are also in the forms.
  • no photos required.
  • 3 to 5 days from nclex, you can check the nm bon's website and verify if your name and license appears in the license verification system. it's free.
  • for a fee, you can also check results thru your pearson vue online account 3 to 4 days after nclex.

if you go back to all the previous pages here, you can also get a lot of good info.

i hope this helps.

so after filling up the forms, I need to get those notarized?

will any local notary suffice?

this has been asked a few times and I believe it has been suggested to go to the US embassy due to issues in other areas

so after filling up the forms, I need to get those notarized?

will any local notary suffice?

i think there's only one form that needs to be notarized. check out the forms.

local notary service was used by applicants. their applications were accepted and they were made eligible to sit for nclex.

Happy New Year! :monkeydance:

hi! i'm new here & i'm about to start filing my NM application. certainly got a lot of info from the threads but wanna seek help re: fingerprint cards. anybody from far provinces like visayas or mindanao would please share how they did it since it would cost a lot to travel to manila just for getting copies at the embassy & having it authenticated at nbi-carriedo:uhoh21:. tnx

hi!

what do you put in the part of the application that says "Upon licensure in New Mexico, I intend to practice in the state (s) of_______"? I intend to apply for the NCLEX in NM but endorse to California after.. Should i put there NM or California? And if i put there California, is there a chance that they'd deny my application to NM?

thanks!
