Hi everyone. Does anyone know how one should go about applying for the State board in New Mexico? After the school sends the official transcript and after completing the fingerprinting requirements, how long will it take before one could be given an ATT? Thanks and have a nice day!
hi!what do you put in the part of the application that says "Upon licensure in New Mexico, I intend to practice in the state (s) of_______"? I intend to apply for the NCLEX in NM but endorse to California after.. Should i put there NM or California? And if i put there California, is there a chance that they'd deny my application to NM?
thanks!
you can leave that blank.
How many days does it usually take NM BON to issue ATTs? Ive applied at Pearsonvue already and its been 2 weeks & I havent received my att yet?thanks & it would be a great help.
did you receive an email from the bon to register in pearson vue for the ATT?
i think sending an email to the bon about your case can help you.
hi! i'm new here & i'm about to start filing my nm application. certainly got a lot of info from the threads but wanna seek help re: fingerprint cards. anybody from far provinces like visayas or mindanao would please share how they did it since it would cost a lot to travel to manila just for getting copies at the embassy & having it authenticated at nbi-carriedo:uhoh21:. tnx
hi! welcome to allnurses!
it will be of great help if you'll just scan all the posts in this particular thread from start to finish. it will really give you a good grasp on how to go about the entire procedure of nm bon.
but to answer your questions.
obtaining the cards:
you can download and print the fingerprint card form in pdf from the fbi website. make sure you print your copies using non-glossy, untexturized, white vellum matte. vellum matte is a thick (almost card-board character), bond-like paper that is usually used by local printshops when making wedding invitation cards. it is available at our local national® bookstores and it may even be labeled in a number of names. print your cards using any decent color jet printer set at the highest resolution when printing. then cut (quite nicely) the printed forms into roughly 8 x 8 inches using the blue-lines as guides (actually the final product will come out at 8.75 x 8 inches). you will then notice that it is almost exactly similar to our local nbi card (that is if you have one or seen one).
don't worry about your application being rejected due to this. it is specifically instructed in nm bon website that you can do this. besides i personally know of a big batch of candidates who did the same exact procedure encountering no problem (almost all of them have their atts now).
having your fingerprints taken:
inspite of what is widely known as nbi carriedo having the sole fingerprint card technician who is qualified/affiliated to take fbi-bound fingerprints, here is a list of nbi sub-stations that i've personally seen conducting the same procedure (for nm bon-bound fps) with good (att) outcome.
nbi- baguio city; ca bon-bound fps have also been taken at this site with the same outcome.
nbi- san fernando, la union
nbi- dagupan, pangasinan
now for bubblynrs' case, i've been told (secondhand info only, sorry) that nbi-cebu city do take fingerprints for nclex purposes.
just make sure that the fp cards and the accompanying certification from nm bon are properlly filled up and signed by the sub-station's official fingerprint tech after the procedure.
and also, you can have the authorization to release form notarized by your local friendly notary. atleast for nm bon, it has not been a problem.
if you are really decided to go through nm bon, don't hesitate coz it is really easy.
good luck..
Hello.. I'm a foreign student who will apply to NM then be endorsed to California only after 2 years after I passed the NCLEX. (for I think I must gain 2 years of experience here in my country first). I have completed the requirements for NM NCLEX but I have few other questions before I can send my application in peace. Can you please help me answer them? I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
1. Can the license to NM also be endorsed to other states other than CA like New Jersey, Texas, Florida & New York?
2. Is it true that you have to be employed there in the US just within a year after passing the NCLEX? Because I definitely have no immediate plans to go in the US, I just want to pass the NCLEX first.
3. Just wanna clarify again, I have to take the NM Nclex exam within a year after I sent my application to the BON, right? If not, it would be nulled. So that means that I have less that a year to review, is that correct?
4. For example, I already passed the NCLEX, but I could only work in the US after 2 years had passed, meaning I have not been to NM or California for 2 years, would my license to NM still be honored and be endorsed concurrently to California? And could it also be endorsed to other states other than CA like New Jersey, Texas, Florida & New York?
5. For those who already passed the NCLEX : How long did you get your license or received a letter to confirm that you have passed the NCLEX RN exam? Would the confirmation be from NM BON?
6. And I need your general advice, should I really take the CGFNS? Many are taking it though their chosen state does not require it. They take it just to be sure. I have no concrete plans in Ca, so I MIGHT relocate. Or should I just take it when I'm already in the US? Would that be okay?
Thanks!
Oh, about the application forms, I have to clear this up -- do the application forms need to be really notarized???and the total payment for NM is exactly $160 right?
1) Not the entire application packet. Only the AUTHORIZATION FOR RELEASE OF INFORMATION form included in the Fingerprint packet (pdf) that is needed to be notarized. A local notary will suffice.
2) The total amount will be US 191 with the following breakdown
a) US 160 for NM BON
b) US 160 for NM Department of Public Safety
God bless

I dunno what u mean by this. You only apply for licensure to NM BON or any state for that matter once you graduate with the program. Ideally, it is better to apply DIRECTLY for licensure to the state where you reallly intend to work. Some of us here applied via NM BON because of mostly personal circumstances where applying to our intended state is not that viable.
You can browse more threads discussing this matter for more info.
1. Can the license to NM also be endorsed to other states other than CA like New Jersey, Texas, Florida & New York?
Yes. As long as you have a FULL and UNRESTRICTED license. If not's the case, say for those who have applied to Ca BON, then you have to apply through Licensure by Examination. Though no need to re-take the nclex. You'll just have the orig state where you took the exam forward your results.
2. Is it true that you have to be employed there in the US just within a year after passing the NCLEX? Because I definitely have no immediate plans to go in the US, I just want to pass the NCLEX first.
No
3. Just wanna clarify again, I have to take the NM Nclex exam within a year after I sent my application to the BON, right? If not, it would be nulled. So that means that I have less that a year to review, is that correct?
Short answer, YES (though this answer needs to be qualified). You can refer to Suzanne's program for your review.
Same as above. Please read other pertinent threads and posts.
5. For those who already passed the NCLEX : How long did you get your license or received a letter to confirm that you have passed the NCLEX RN exam? Would the confirmation be from NM BON?
Some were able to know if they passed 2 days after taking the exam via NM BON website. You'll then receive your hard license via mail roughly after 2 weeks.
6. And I need your general advice, should I really take the CGFNS? Many are taking it though their chosen state does not require it. They take it just to be sure. I have no concrete plans in Ca, so I MIGHT relocate. Or should I just take it when I'm already in the US? Would that be okay?
It's really up to you depending on your plans. Though generally, most states don't require the CGFNS exam. You only take it if the state you intend to work to requires it.
God bless.

i tem b should be US 31. Not 160 as indicated above.
