New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

hi! i am just wondering, what was the visa of the writer when he went to australia? la trobe offers a 12 week BP and a business class visa holder can stay in au for 3 mos maximum. with that in mind, I am considering CON in Burwood since the BP program is 2 mos only but my relatives are in Melbourne, which is near La Trobe but then I am still undecided to go to La Trobe because the BP is longer as compared to CON. I hope somebody can help me with this one. Thanks!

Student Visa since La Trobe is Cricos accredited.

Hi Everyone!

my sister is planning to apply for registration, can i ask if what is the minimum

number of experience required?

thanks!

AHPRA requires a minimum of 3 months experience for you to be qualified as an applicant. Read the first page of this thread and ahpra.gov.au. Good luck.

thank you! Btw, how long is the processing time for student visas here in Phils? And in terms of fees, is it more expensive than a Business Class visa? Thank you! :)

Yep, student visa fee is more costly compared to business subclass 456 visa.

Kindly refer to this link http://www.australia.com.ph/files/mnla/03%20-%20Visa%20Application%20Charges%200711.pdf

And I suggest you read also DIAC's website for further info. http://www.immi.gov.au/

Why can't I view the latest posts in this site??? Is there a problem or is it just my laptop...hmmmm :(

who is going for the CON's juanuary intake?

do you already have a place to stay coz im looking for one just in case you guys want to share your place or maybe looking for one too please let me know.

one more thing, i was granted a 456 multiple entry visa for 1 yr so with that after the BP i plan to go back to the philippines for a month then go back to australia to process my registration as well as look for employment.

the first entry wont be a problem simply because i have the reason of undergoing a BP course and a 456 visa is a requirement. how about my return to aus? what will i say to the immigration officer?

just wondering because the 456 visa is for those who want to visit Australia for business purposes, right? i might be questioned for my return. any idea?

thanks

Tell them the truth...

.I think they get the picture.....here is this person from the Phillipines wanting to return, recently visited Australia for bridging program to gain Australian registration in nursing, now returning, what will they be returning to do.........look for an employer to employ them, for a long term business visa (and hopefully gain a permanent residency visa), I do not think anything else will be the answer they will be looking for or know will not be the truth.

Can somebody enlighten me about the 575 visa... If my 575 visa expires after the duration of my bridging course, can I apply for another visa while I am still in Australia? Say for example, a working visa (if I find an employer)?

secure that AHPRA letter first before anything else.

finding a BP school is the least of your concern for now.
