New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

How about with a 575 visa? Can I apply for another visa while I am still in Australia?

Hi, I am to file an further stay visitor's visa then stay here until my registration takes effect and look for a job, and then the employer files for a working visa. ---- well, that's the plan... apparently, I went to the immigration today to apply for my visitor's visa, and I think they're becoming stricter than ever. The lady who I spoke with didn't want to give me a visa, I told her I was wanting to see my relatives and I have to process my nursing registration. She spoke to her manager and then got back to me saying that they'll only give me 4 weeks visa with no further stay. I was surprised by this decision as I have all the documents needed, I even have letters of invitation from my relatives. My visa will expire on the 07/12/11. When I noticed that she wouldn't change her mind regardless of what I say, I just asked her if she can make it effective 08/12/11, day after my present visa lapses. She told me to just lodge the visa again on the 5th, but she put notes on my file in her computer. I am planning to lodge my visa on a different office. Most probably, she has already indicated something on my file but I'm still hoping that the decision would change and I'd still be granted a longer visa or a better visa...

If you have this 8503 condition on your visa- no further stay:

This is a portion from the immi site about having a no further stay on your visa, means you cannot be given another visa unless in extreme circumstances and you would have agreed to this condition andsigned off on requirement and this is why she would have made notes on your file as you are now asking onshore, for another visa that you have agreed not to do.

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1153.pdf

""The 8503 (or No Further Stay) condition means:

That the holder of the visa on which the condition has been

imposed will not, after entering Australia, be entitled to be granted

any other visa1, while the holder remains in Australia

The effect of this visa condition is that it will not be possible for

you to apply to remain in Australia beyond the authorised period

of stay shown on your visa label.""

Is anyone applied for BP in IHNA and ACFE for their intakes next year? ;)

Hello Makikay. I am planning to apply to ACFE's March intake since their January intake is already full. However, I read in their website that application period for the March intake would just be from November 1 to December 1. My AHPRA approval letter came just last Thursday and I still have to acquire complete immunisation. :( How did you send your application to ACFE? By courier or by mail? I will try to ring them tomorrow to ask if I could just send in my immunisation status records upon completion. I am hoping for a favorable response..

Thanks, Makikay! :) I can't reply via PM yet. By the way, did you send the original copies of the LOE from AHPRA and the IELTS result or did you have them photocopied and then notarized and then scanned for submission?

I got a letter of offer from AAON today. Just want to ask if AAON is an accredited BP provider? I already looked at the AHPRA website to check on this, but only the Uni of Ballarat was listed there. Perhaps, they are also accredited because they are associated with Ballarat. Your thoughts, anyone?

I just received my confirmation of enrollment from AAON for their 9 February 2012 intake and I am going to apply for a student visa- 575. Anyone here who has already enrolled for the February intake?:):) :lol2:

moockieblack? markgian?

ETA If you are worried about AAoN not being accredited to AHPRA, I already checked this with my case officer from AHPRA; also the fees are directly payable to University of Ballarat, meaning that they are still the main provider ;)

isingrin, arreyn, hotrod how was your experience with AAoN? :)

Anyone here who applied for the bridging program of Royal Perth Hospital? What are the requirements? and where can I download the application form? I tried searching their site, but I can't find it. It's just a PDF containing the overview of the course and the contact person. I have sent them an email, but I still have not received a response.

Hi chiq, how long did it take you to receive the COE from the time you submitted your requirements to them? :)

Hi chiq, how long did it take you to receive the COE from the time you submitted your requirements to them? :)

I sent my application first week of October; I was interviewed first week of November and I was given the letter of offer November 11. I settled the payment last week and after 3 days they issued the COE :)

What are my other visa options after my 575 visa ends? I really would like to stay in Australia to find work after the bridging program. I don't have plans to go back to P.I.
