New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Anyone here who applied for the bridging program of Royal Perth Hospital? What are the requirements? and where can I download the application form? I tried searching their site, but I can't find it. It's just a PDF containing the overview of the course and the contact person. I have sent them an email, but I still have not received a response.

I don't think Royal Perth Hospital is still offering the bridging program. Ive read about it while I was still bp school hunting. I'll try to search again so I can give you the link. I know of two schools offering the program in West Australia - Hollywood Private Hospital and IHNA (they have a Perth Campus).

Royal Perth Hospital will not conduct bridging program since it is no longer accredited under the new national registration and accreditation scheme.

I just received my confirmation of enrollment from AAON for their 9 February 2012 intake and I am going to apply for a student visa- 575. Anyone here who has already enrolled for the February intake?:):) :lol2:

moockieblack? markgian?:confused:

ETA If you are worried about AAoN not being accredited to AHPRA, I already checked this with my case officer from AHPRA; also the fees are directly payable to University of Ballarat, meaning that they are still the main provider ;)

isingrin, arreyn, hotrod how was your experience with AAoN? :)

Hi! They're actually good, and they have great facilitators. The assignments are just a bit stressful, especially because we had to do them while we're on the placement, but it's okay, we can manage. We're finishing this Friday. And oh, I'm living with hotrod. hahaha!

[color=rgb(139, 0, 0)]hi!

con really takes a couple of days to answer emails and sometimes they don't reply at all, so you'd better ring them or write your doubts on this thread and the forumers will help you, like they did to me (thank you guys!!!)

good luck!

hello everyone!

is there any education provider in wa aside from royal perth hospital? is it possible to apply for a slot while waiting for the loe from aphra? or do i just have to wait first for the loe?

does any one know any intakes next year in wa?

you have to wait for the ahpra letter to apply for a bp! it's their most absolute requirement!

I have several classmates from my IELTS review that are under SCC, however they are still on the process of sending their documents because of the IELTS. I have their FB account and I have read that they have successfully sent one nurse. hehe. Anyway, with regards to the funding scheme, you have to have a property which will serve as your collateral with the bank but according to my classmates, they are a bit choosy with the properties. They only want those that are commercial properties. Or you can give them 350,000 as a replacement for the property if you don't have one. I haven't been to any of their seminars so I cannot really say much about their program or scheme. I think you'd be paying the money through monthly salary deduction for 3 or 4 years. I am not quite sure about this info though. :)
