New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi everyone!

AHPRA also emailed me and ask to submit "Course Outline" I have requested from our University Registrar the said document but what they gave me is just another course Description and a Transcript summary Including Hours of Theoretical and clinical Instruction in Nursing. I am not really confident nor sure if this is what AHPRA is asking from me. My sister tried to tell them that I needed a Course Outline but they told her that "they don't normally give it?" :uhoh3: I don't know what to do, I was advised to to talk to our College Dean about it.

any advised?

TIA.:nurse:

Hi, in my case, I was given a new TOR by my school with additional columns indicating the number of theoretical hours (meaning lecture hours) and number of lab hours I took per sem and put the number of units and number of hours per subject beside.

I submitted a course description as well. It is sort of like a breakdown of subject hours taken in college. My school provided me one, it's about 30 pages long and it details all the courses I took (nursing and non-nursing) from 1st year to 4th year. I've submitted this to AHPRA and they have accepted it.

Here's a sample so you can have an idea:

NUR 12 – Promotive & Preventive Care Management 1 (8 units)

The course is designed to provide students the developmental theories and concepts, to critically analyze health needs and concerns of the individual, family and community. Classroom and RLE provided students with activities to develop skills, knowledge and attitude and values on health promotion and identification and management of risk factors.

What I did was, I showed the letter from AHPRA to our school registrar and dean of nursing, paid the necessary courier fees and they were the ones who sent it to AHPRA.

Thanks for the inputs! Wow that sounds really complicated.

Hi, me and most of my pinoy classmates are on a 456 visa, some on a multiple and some single entry. I am on a single entry and I purchased a one-way ticket, and I was lucky because I wasn't questioned AT ALL by the immigration about this. Most of my classmates on a multiple entry, also have a one-way ticket because they're planning to exit Oz and enter a different country closer to here so they could enter back to Oz ASAP. But some still got a 2-way ticket because they wanted to celebrate Christmas with their family. I think it just varies with what you want, and if asked, just answer them as honest as possible.

Hello there, i just want to ask if how are you going to deal with your status having a single entry 456 visa if in case you couldnt look for a job after the 3month duration? Just wondering...
