Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
hey guys! i donno if it's true because obviously it the total opposite of what's happening in our profession

Your post is better off on a different thread. As the title of this thread suggests, this is for 'new grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Au'
The article you quoted was from the US. If you are doing research on nursing jobs in Australia go for careerone.com.au and ahpra.gov.au and immi.gov.au. Or better yet look for the latest news from other Aussie states and find out the current job trends instead of articles made by some US University Professor. Just my
I work for public health institution have today all nurses at our workk, have been advised that their hours may need to be cut due to budget cuts......do not rely on getting a job in public hospitals in victoria unless you have a experience in aspeciality that is required
That is worrying. Hope that doesn't happen here in SA. Thanks for the post. Very useful info. Hope my fellow Filipino RNs would consider this info before deciding where to do their BPs or where to look for jobs.
The story in SA is not as dire but the public hospitals here in SA are not hiring RNs that need work visas. There is a surplus of nurses. Don't know the story of private hospitals though.
@NurseNathalie: I'm so happy that AHPRA already contacted you about your lost documents. Prayers indeed are very powerful
@14162S001: Congrats you finally got your eligibility letter! Hope we can be classmates :)
@SMCS: I am very sure you have not read the terms of this thread. If you have an information you want to share to everyone, please post in English. And I don't think this is the right place to advertise you agency / consultancy or whatever you call it. It is very good of you to share to us the BP schools and their possible tuition increase though. Thank you.
May we also refrain from spamming by posting several times. We can send several replies by quoting the posters' message and then the info you wanna share. :)
Godbless us all in all our dreams!:)
U need to do bridging course even u are having work experience. That's the way to have your license registration in ahpra to be completed.....also ask some companies that are good in assessing nurses experiences..
Why would you need a company to assess your nursing experiences when you have AHPRA which is authorised to do the assessment for you? I suggest to everybody to read up on the AHPRA website on the minimum requirements to be eligible as a division 1 registered nurse in Australia. No offence meant but, I personally think having some "companies" assessing your nursing experiences is just synonymous to having your papers assessed by agencies out there. Good luck everybody!
