Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Is your bp school CRISCO registered then you cannot apply for student visa. Takes ages as well.
CRISCO or CRICOS?
From DIAC website:
Non Award Sector: Temporary Visa (Subclass 575) - Assessment Level 1
or
Student Visa for Non Award courses like BP
Accepted in full-time study
You must be accepted for full-time study in a registered course or part of a registered course to be eligible for this visa.
Note: A registered course is an education or training course offered by an Australian education provider registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
hi everyone! i've been thinking about doing the bridging course in australia. i'm done with IELTS already. i have 2months experience as nurse trainee. my family is ready to support me. Now, i'm about to fill up the application form AGOS-04. My question is where should i submit this application? Would it be best to submit it to WA for faster response?

i guess it is recommended to submit your application to states other than VIC and NSW. When I called SA, they said the average processing time for them is 6 months. And when I called ACT, they said they can't give an estimate. I know one staffing agency that recommends NT, TAS, WA, and SA.
This is a quote from one bridging course provider in oz.Dear Bridging Course Applicant,
Please be aware that we are enforcing our IELTS/OET requirements for our Bridging Course regardless of the AHPRA standards.
All overseas trained nurses must provide IELTS banding of 7 or higher across the criteria or an OET of B or higher to be considered for our course.
Kind regards

Hope this helps....
thanks a lot! i'll be taking my ielts exam this end of august. i do hope i can get all 7, especially with writing!
if I only have 2 weeks for visa processing, what kind of visa do you guys recommend? 456 or student visa?
i recommend 456,its faster and cheaper, just around 5thou pesos, compared to student visa which costs 27thou plus longer processing time.but both visa have different perks, depends upon which is applicable for you.
Hi everyone,
I just got my IELTS test results online ( I took it July 30). I passed!!!! Whehew!!!! And I just got an offer from AAON for their sept intake. They still have to assess the documents I submitted. Still lack some vaccinations though. I'm trying to finish everything by tomorrow so I can email the rest of the docs immediately. I hope I still have time to finish all the necessary preparations before classes start on Sept 8. One step closer to my ozzie dream.
Isingrn, I hope we can be classmates.:clown:

Your post is better off on a different thread. As the title of this thread suggests, this is for 'new grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Au'The article you quoted was from the US. If you are doing research on nursing jobs in Australia go for careerone.com.au and ahpra.gov.au and immi.gov.au. Or better yet look for the latest news from other Aussie states and find out the current job trends instead of articles made by some US University Professor. Just my

Thank you. I'm going to AAON for the September 8 intake, which is indeed CRISCO registered, therefore no other choice but the 456 visa. Thanks so much, you've been very helpful to all of us! :)
