Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi Everyone,I found all the info in this thread very helpful. I am currently in the process of collating my documents for registration in Victoria. I have no work experience (it was really hard looking for a job in the Philippines). I am currently in Melbourne on a 457 visa (care of Hubby).
I know that this question might have been answered in one of the posts, but I was wondering what I can do with the Verification of my license, which is one of the requirements of NBV. Would PRC require me to personally lodge it, or can it be done by one of my relatives.
If one goes to the PRC and requests for the Verification for Australia, would they know that right away?
Advanced thanks for the replies ... :)
You can make a signed Authorization Letter for your relative to request the said document in your behalf. Don't forget to provide a copy of your license and an ID preferably a passport copy. :) As far as I know this is the good standing certificate that PRC will send directly to NBV and they know this one already.

sassyjess, if you file for verification with PRC and you have a "downloaded" form from the nursing board you wanna apply, then PRC will fill up that form.. that's "verification" as far as PRC is concern... if you dont have a "downloaded" form which is possible as other nursing boards do not provide such, then you file for "good standing certificate" with PRC.. both might be the same as far as we and other nursing boards are concern, but in PRC's viewpoint it is different, and the difference is as what ive explained above.

yes.also in my case, if you havent downloaded a request form the nursing board that you intend to register, PRC will send cert. of good standing.
when i applied for a registration in NBV, they didnt give me a request form, thus i was the one who rang PRC and told them if its possible if they can send the verification of initial registration, and they told me they can only send cert. of good standing if so happen that a request form is not provided.
Just to clarify some things:Visas are not issued or granted by QNC, it is rather granted by DIAC (Department of Immigration and Citizenship). You will also apply for the visa you need and not QNC.
Thanks Aelith for the clarification..=) Anyhow, I kinda knew that but I guess I just lumped it all up..
Btw, for instance if 456 visa is granted already to me for the part B challenge/clinical module, can my husband already come with me? I read in their immigration website that it is possible. However, has anyone already done this? If not, then how soon can the husband/wife join in Australia?
Hi everyone. Thank you for the people who PM me... but i am new so i do not have those privileges yet. Anyways, I am from Manila.
Thanks to everyone.
Aelith you are are like a consultant maybe you should consider a career move.
Cioman94 from down south... thanks... hope you can extend that here in Manila.

Oh I'm sorry. It was just stated that way in your previous reply so I thought you misunderstood it so I corrected it. My apologies.
As for your other concern, yes you can apply for a 456 visa with your husband and children too. Just fill up the form and complete all other requirements needed (e.g. health check ups). Granted that you have your employer right after your registration, you can also include in your application for a 457 visa your husband and other dependents. :)

Hi Nursemavi or anyone else who can answer my question. I am doing my medicals this december. I have a friend working at st. Luke's Medical Center extension and she said that for a 456 short stay I need to forward my result to the embassy in Makati that would cost me Php 100 since it's just a short stay. I said, I will be working in and doing competence maybe in a hospital so I should do the full medical exam. She said, if you're a nurse and will be exposed then you have to do the full exam. I just don't know if I have to request the facility to send this to Canberra or to the embassy or maybe both. I would really appreciate your reponse on this. Thanks.
Aelith
