New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

thank you for the information! i sent my application to QNC last Sept 26 and still waiting for the result :nuke:

no problem :) good luck to us and to everyone else who are currently applying to Australia :)

Heya:p

You have a situation as my cuzin when she applied as a Nurse here in NZ 5 years ago. :specs: My dad has sponsored her and it took him a year for her to finally bring her ova here. When she arrived, she had to take a 3 month bridging course at Unitec Mt. Albert and did an over all exam especially the IELTS. NZ are really needing nurses and I so encourage you to transfer through here ( If you want). Although I don't think that you can work while studying. My dad had to support her while taking up the course. If you need more info I'll ask my dad about it.

hi.im from Philippines..an Rn with no experience yet..im interested with NZ but no idea where to start.is Unitec MT.albert an agency?if os, how to contact them?thanks

Hi rlssem!

I was just wondering if you have bought any collated review materials for QLD challenge test A? Some say we can get hold of such materials from those who reviewed in Manila in an Australian agency review center. I am looking for people who have underwent such review but have not found anyone yet. I am willing to pay for them for guaranteed passing of the challenge test A.

hi

i quote cas-cqu "Preparation for the exam is self-directed - assistance is not provided to the applicant to prepare for the examination. Practice exams are not available to applicants for exam preparation."

there are no available review materials, if you try to visit the cqu-cas website its written in there what are the possible topics included in the test and what are the core competencies being tested...so you may browse it and serve it as your guideline...:wink2:

but i will try to compile data/infos here about the tests from those who took the tests already (if theres any) and i assure you i will tell you once i did it.

As far as I know, you can't apply to NZ without experience. They've changed the rules this year and now requires at least 6 months experience ( and still employed) or 1 year experience.

:wink2:thanks for the replies! :redbeathe yeah, im talking about ANSM consultancy in Malate, Manila. I think i might just sign up with them next week :wink2:

Thanks again!! :heartbeat:up::lol2::redbeathe

does anybody here came from asnc council? need your help please

please clarify:

ASNC is Australian Student Nurse Consultancy, a private immigration firm in the Philippines with connection in Brisbane, Queensland.

ANMC is the Aus. Nursing and Midwifery Council which is the Aus. government's agency in charge of assessing your skills relative to your application for immigration (not for nursing registration which are handled by each nursing boards). :nuke:

Actually the national registration can be a good and bad thing. All states have their own set of rules and regulations and by making them uniform, in general is good, however, can be extremely messy. They actually have to adapt the rules in each and every aspect, including nursing degrees and the registration requirements. The registration process can also take ages to finish - imagine PRC in the Philippines.

I was referring to the way my lawyer notarized and certified the papers. I was asking a while ago if it is okay because my lawyer did not place her contact number. and you said it depends on w/c state so I answered QNC and NT is it okay to have that format

as what they say, complete the information needed... me, i went to UM to have a customized stamp for QNC purposes.. also, lawyer should sign on each page, and only one lawyer please for all documents you have.. just a reminder in good faith.. goodluck..:nuke:

hi cioman94..

do you know of anyone who signed up with ASNC (Australian Student Nurse Consultancy) and is now in Australia? Are you familiar with modules? and what ever exams we have to take? Are the exams difficult?
