Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I emailed QNC regarding the Criminal Audit and this was their reply:As stated in the correspondence sent to you, If you have spent 12 months or more outside Australia within the last ten years, you are required to provide Council with a police clearance from the country or countries where you resided. You are responsible for any costs involved in this process. You will be required to conduct your own research regarding where the checks are conducted in your country, however, in most countries the Police Service would be the relevant authority. Certified copies are preferred to original documents.
so this additonal requirement is expected to be complied by international nurse applicants, i guess...
thanks for that...at leats overseas nurses now have the idea.
so whats your move now?

not all applicants need to fulfill this one. the QNC randomly selects from 1 of 5 applicants to send this additional requirement and informs them via the letter, acknowledgment of application.
if you received a letter without the attached info on criminal audit, it means you won't have to send that anymore. but if you did receive one, it's 2 pages long and located after the official receipt, you're required to send a certified copy of your NBI clearance for international purposes.
i already have my clearance so i guess i'm off to notarize and send it as soon as possible :)
thanks everyone! hey aelith when are you going to Australia?i have friends in melbourne who just finished the bridging course. they told me its not really easy to look for a sponsor esp. if you have no hospital experience. is that true? they said that its the hospital that sponsors the most. they are now worried that they may not be able to find a job before their visas expire and that all their effort and expenses may have just been in vain. well, that kinda puts everything in perspective. i thought everything would follow after the bridging course... so i guess we really have to plan this well.this makes me worrie also... a lot!!!
hi kajada..
how are your friends now in melbourne? where did they take the program?..im planning to take it there too.. but still thinking about it.. how long are they allowed to stay and hows their job hunting doing? foun any luck yet?
..sorry to ask too many questions but just curious about the steps they took since im really considering melbourne too.. and also thinking about the visa thing...hayay!
so you're taking queensland? how are you so far?
hope to hear from you.. i still cant pm you..maybe we can chat if thats ok with you..
thanks again.

hi sis hotpotato. contact details including the address? huhuhuh! is it ok if it is hand written? Do i need to put the add and no. even on the notarized papers? And another question.. does she have to certify each page of my transcript? My transcript has 3 pages and she certified it at the last page of my transcript. the first 2 pages are not certified.
by the way, appec already replied to my answer. They offer bridging program but the intake is Feb 2010 and the fee is 18000AUD 1 year. Hehe!

Yeah you have to include the address. I think somebody here wrote down the contact details all by herself and it was accepted by the council im just not sure if it's in QNC. For the transcript they should notarize every page not just the last one. Funny that the lawyer didn't include the 1st and 2nd page.
wow 18k? I'd rather avail of ANSM's service.
Hi rlssem!
I was just wondering if you have bought any collated review materials for QLD challenge test A? Some say we can get hold of such materials from those who reviewed in Manila in an Australian agency review center. I am looking for people who have underwent such review but have not found anyone yet. I am willing to pay for them for guaranteed passing of the challenge test A.
