New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

punjabi is it necessarily to have a score of 6.5 in reading, listening and 7 in writing and speaking in ielts do they have a consideration what if i only failed the writing part and ol of them are passed.

they are very strict with the IELTS requirement.

you can't go on with the challenge test without passing IELTS.

If you failed the writing part, u must take the whole IElts again.

Thanks sis,

hehe, i hope the PRC here in Manila are easy to talk to when i request this document..i do hope i can get this soon. More action to us all. I am done with the IELTs so i guess i need to do this request from the PRC. What did you actually call it when you requested it. So did QNC accept this from you sent to them or its still not sure if they will accept it ?

Sorry about the BRO, thought you were one... patuman01, really sorry about that.

Hi nyk, I did not appply for QNC but I did in NMWBA. Yes, NMBWA did accept it. Of course I attached some kind of cover letter too explaining for the said documents. Sometimes things in life are funny. Just like a medicine, some are good for somebody but some won't or can't tolerate it. INEQUALITY??? hi hi.But one thing is for sure, if we won't try anything, we will surely get nothing.

Just go ahead and try. The worst thing you can get is have additional knowledge if our PRC is really competent or not. Do we really deserve it? If nobody will go to them and remind them that they are not doing their jobs responsibly, then they might think that they are doing right. As long as we ask them tactfully, we should never fear. God and goodness is always with us.In our hearts, we will never be wrong.

BTW, I called it Certification of my Initial Registration.( the documents I mean). Actually it's their fault, but still we have to pay for it. GOD BE WITH YOU.

You wouldn't need to present any financial evidence to the University. However, that will be needed in the application for a students visa. You actually need to provide evidence that have enough money to cover the expenses [Tuition fees (for the whole course), Living expenses (12k AUD) & airfare ticket (roundtrip)]. That is if you are only going on your own; meaning without a spouse or child coming with you. If your family are coming along then you would need to provide more. The financial evidence can come from anyone who will be supporting you or a bank loan or scholarship.

Hi, Aelith! Been reading through this thread for sometime now. The above post caught my curiosity hence, I ask for your help to enlighten me on this. If, for example, I opted for the pre-registration process and was able to apply for a student's visa, how would I be able to bring along my spouse and children? What type of visa would they be in? Does my hubby need to apply for a separate visa type? Let's assume that financial evidence won't be a problem here. Thanks so much. :)

hello everyone! i have been reading this thread for several days and it really helped me in deciding whether to push through with my application to QNC or not. my aunt leaves in Queensland and she's been convincing me for months to send my application to QNC but since i really had no idea how to go about it, i had been making lots of excuses to delay it. :chuckle i really am thankful that i have encountered this thread, it seriously enlightened me. :yelclap: a big thanks to you guys!!!

i am planning to lodge my application to QNC next week, the only requiremnts lacking are those that are to be secured in the PRC. is it possible to get the Initial Registration Certificate and the Good Standing crtfc8 in a day?

another thing, are there any other document that i should add aside from those listed on the QNC website?

plz help me! heheh

Hi to everyone!:) Been reading the posts from page 1 and I'm gaining more and more knowledge as I read further. Thanks to all contributors. After I've read 'til the last page of this thread, I intend to decide on which path to take then read everything all over again and take important notes. Hahah! I just wanna be sure I have all the necessary info. If ever I have something I want clarified, then I'd bug you guys here. Hope that'd be alright. Heheh.

Anyway, I've just one Q for now. If ever I chose the CAS program (for Queensland) and failed both the Challenge Test and Education Modules, can I still try my luck and apply in another state, say NSW or NMBWA? I understand that if an applicant failed both Challenge Test and Educ Modules, he/she will be given the option to enrol in a pre-registration course, which would be way too expensive for most.

Thanks super! Good luck to us all! :)

You will be the main applicant and you would just have to include your hubby and children in the application. The visa will still be the student visa. :) So, in short, you will have only one application.

It will be fine to apply to other states.

hello! to those who had already sent their applications to QNC, i would like to ask how much will the PRC charge for the Verification (good standing) that will be sent directly to QNC? the total amount of the document and the mailing fee..

i would really appreciate an immediate response from you guys.. :dzed:
