Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
You will be the main applicant and you would just have to include your hubby and children in the application. The visa will still be the student visa. :) So, in short, you will have only one application.
Hi! Thanks super for the reply. Just a follow up Q on this and I hope you won't get tired of answering, Aelith and the others. :-) Kinda off topic but not entirely, though.
If one goes on a 3-month tourist visa or any other visa for BP purposes, can the spouse of the applicant look for a possible employer there? It is not to work while w/in that 3-month period but just for the spouse to look for a possible sponsor and be able to hopefully go back to Oz with a working visa. Will that be legal?
Any input will be appreciated. Thank you and God bless to all!:)
Wow! I can't believe I've read everything from page 1 up to the last page in 2 days! Wooohhoooo!!!

Hi nyk,
As far as I can remember, I paid 75 Pesos for PRC Processing and 800 Pesos for mailing via FEDEX, but we pay it na sa PRC coz they should be the one to mail it, NOT US. Do it soon. This takes time.
Good Luck.

So i can do this now..but i have to bring my cover letter to prc? so i can send the verfication as well ..thanks sis
THANKS for the quick response!!! :) you guys are really great!
does the PRC allow 2 verification forms to be sent together to QNC so that me and my friend would somehow save some money? i have been calling PRC - CDO since yesterday to inquire about this but i guess their telephone line is busted.
how long does it take for the PRC to send the verification? will it take weeks?
cover letter? what is that? plz enlighten me! heheh..
QNC requires us to send with our application a copy of our registration certificate from the PRC. This is a pseudo looking diploma that states we are registered nurses under the PRC. Unfortunately for some of us, or all of us the PRC takes a while to finish doing most of the paper work. I registered last june 2008 and my certificate is not yet being processed. I was able to call them by luck and was told that they are doing the certificates of license numbers that begin with 047.. the cover letter is what i will use since i advised by one of the member patuman to secure a certificate from the PRC. It looks like a certificate of passing and its a couple of pages in the forum she was able to post a description of it. I will use that instead and was advised to attach a cover letter explaining why i still dont have a certificate of registration.
Hope this helps...
Thanks sis! I now understand what you mean. :wink2: I am also a June 2008 passer so I guess we're on the same boat. I just hope that we will be able to complete the requirements soon so we can lodge our application to QNC the soonest possible time because we can never tell what are the implications of Australia's nationalization of nursing and midwifery licensing body would be.

Ooops sorry bro! :bowingpur
Unfortunately i don't have my license yet. My last name starts with letter Z so i presumed that mine wouldn't be available too soon just like my sis' license but I'll try my luck on Monday, i do hope its already there. I am also going to PRC (CDO) on Monday. Good luck to both us! :wink2:

Hello sis :)
I think it would be okay as long as you don't violate any of your visa conditions. Some visas would allow you to work, while others do not. For example, a student visa will allow you and your hubby to work for a t least 20 hours per week. A tourist visa, on the other hand, have no working rights.
