Hi Guys, I need you feedback. My hubby and I with our friends (another couple) planned to go on vacation next month to Florida. The date that worked for all of us is set two days before my NCLEX exam. My dilemma is should I push my NCLEX date back or get it over with? I feel somewhat ready but you know with NCLEX you can't never feel totally ready. Thank in advance for your feedback.

If you're going to 'ruin' your vacation by worrying or studying, I say go ahead and get it over with. However, a vacation immediately before the NCLEX will relax your mind and your nerves IF you concentrate on vacationing ONLY.

If you feel ready go for it. Then you can completely relax during your vacation.
Thank you for your input.

The wise one tackle the bull by the horn and tackle it once. What about the unwise? They proceed to postpone to tackling the bull by the horn, and fall short of free mind. My advice. Do the NCLEX now and postpone that vacation.

I agree, get it done and enjoy your vacation while you wait for your results. As you said, you'll never feel 100% ready. Just take that leap!
Good luck!

I hate to take the other side, but I would put off NCLEX if you can afford to. I postponed so much "family time" when I was in nursing school. What little extra $ we had went to books, tuition, equipmenet.... Vacation- sure- I picked up mono 3 weeks into a semester and had to take the semester off- that was fun for the wife and kids!. No matter how much you want to, you are going to have Boards on your mind throughout the whole trip. You are going to cheat your family out of a planned vacation with you- and you may find you have a harder time with NCLEX- for the same reason- you will be giving half your attention to the vacation instead of sharpening your focus for boards.

I pushed back my NCLEX while I went on a cruise to Mexico.
I came back, and passed the exam.
Thank you all for responding. I really do appreciate it.

Pray about it Hadassah, then give it to Him!
God has a plan and it's awesome!
Either way trust in Him and enjoy your vacay!

Maybe do both? Had a classmate take NCLEX-PN while vacationing out of state. Is it possible to just change the locale & take it while you're there?
