NCLEx-RN study buddy testing MARCH 2010

Published

Hi I am just wondering if someone likes to be my study buddy.I am from California,I will be taking by march and it will be my 3rd time. It's so hard for me to sit and study again I need motivation.

I am having a crisis of faith. I have taken the NCLEX RN 2 times. Each time I had all the questions. I have had a terrible 2009, not passing the NCLEX, being laid off my LPN job, and several personal problems. It has taken me a while to get back in the groove again, but I don't know where to begin. I want to take it in March, and I have been answering questions in my Saunders book. I have also got the ATI study package recommended by my school. I have trouble with drip rate calculations and prioritizing, and I don't know what else to do. Any other advise I can get to help prepare for the test would be great. I do have faith that I will pass this time. My luck needs to change sometime. Also good luck to everyone that is taking the test. I hope we all will pass with flying colors.

Mylo56312, I want to share these two scriptures of faith with you...meditate on them and pray about it, because prayer changes things!

Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

2 Corinthians 5:7(NIV)

"We live by faith, not by sight."

May God bless you and ease your troubled heart and mind...in Jesus' name, Amen!

First i would say "Amen!" to what NICU1209 shared. Nothing eases a troubled mind and heart better that the word of the Lord.

@mylo56312> With regards to your crisis of faith, calm down. Never think negative about the Lord. For he didn't put this test to you and not being able to pass it. Believe me, He is the only one who knows you more than you know yourself. I'll be honest, i failed my first take and did ponder about it as to why did i fail and later I did realize that the problem was on me. Yes, i didn't prepare well, i'm not eager enough to pass the test, i took it lightly, i wasted too much time playing rather than reviewing for real. And i saw the whole picture since then, I was humbled and said "maybe i should do some changes." So there, no bad feelings but try to assess your reasons too. :)

And that's also the reason why you came to this site again, to know where to start. I'd say you came to the right site again. If you browse other threads you will see that you have commonalities to others. Yes, mostly you will see other who didn't make it too. They try to ask what went wrong and asked what to do this time in order to nail the damn exam. :lol2: Of all the advices that they give, you'll notice that its all about PREPARATION! PREPARATION! PREPARATION! :)

Yes it's all about PREPARATION. Although the time to spend in reviewing is individualized, try to ask yourself if it fits with you or you're comfortable with it. Try browsing other threads specially those who passed the exam on how they did it. I'm sorry if i can't provide you all or failed to answer the question that you really want to know.

But for starters, if you didn't check yet,my advise is try to read the book Kaplan NCLEX-RN Exam 2010 Strategies for the Registered Nursing Licensing Exam. It did boost my interest or put me back on the groove,as what you call it, to review and prepare for the NCLEX-RN.

Bottom line:

1. Prepare well

2. Time Management

3. PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!

4. Don't forget to pray!

Good luck to all of us!

READ THIS EACH DAY!!! IT SURELY HELPS...

Dear Father,

We come to you right now just to say acknowledge just how merciful you have been to us during one of the most challenging times in the history of our world. Lord...You are the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. You are Abba Father!!! We truly honor and magnify your precious and Holy Name even in the darkest days. We understand as your children that you are the light of the world.

We thank you for opportunity to serve as "caregivers" to the wounded, burdened, downtrodden, mentally and physically challenged. We believe that you did not bring us this far to leave nor forsake us as we embark to obtain our registered nurse/practical nurse license. Your word says, Ask and it shall be given, seek and yea shall find. So right now...God, right now I am asking that you bind every spirit of worry, depression and anxiety upon my sisters, brothers and I as we endeavor to pass the NCLEX RN/PN examination. Lord give us calm spirit. Shower down confidence on us. Most of all we have built our trust in you and not some examination. Grant us FAVOR right now !!!!

You promised that we shall be victorious in 2010. 10 is the biblical number of "DIVINE PERFECTION". 2010 you said you will bring forth a NEW GENERATION of Nurses, Leaders and Providers who walk with boldness and as advocates for patients. Those who put greed over patients shall be no more.

Heavenly Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, "OUR KIND AND LOVING PROVIDER". Lord those of my brothers and sisters who are experiencing any lack and financial hardships I am petitioning you to provide supernatural provisions. I command it right now under the sound of my voice!!!! I decree and declare that all spirits of worry and anxiety are eradicated right now. It shall be turned into calm and peace to weather the storm for our preparation for our licenses. Finally, we ask that if it be in your perfect will for each one of us to pass the NCLEX PN/RN exam at the appointed time i.e. in your perfect timing.

We thank you in advance for your grace and mercy on our lives and on our vocation as registered/practical nurses in the final making.

AMEN !!!!!dance.gifyelclap.gif:yeah::heartbeat

P.S. I hope I have not offended anyone with my post. Only done in love for those of us who have requested prayer.

Same here, doing questions daily. i don't know if that is sufficient enough for the preparation. 100 questions/day. read all the 100 rationale. allocated time is 4 hours of study period. 2 hours for the exam, the other 2 is for reading rationale and breaks. :) then you do this for 6x/week. But i don't know, you think it's sufficient? share your thoughts guys. After that 4 hours, do you guys review also your content materials?

Yes, I do content review just to refresh on the topic which I feel am weak but I really don't dig on it a lot as it overloads my mind. I keep http://www.MedlinePlus.com open for topics I wanted to read. My problem is I don't have an organized study plan...I would jump from one area to another  Feb. 1st I'll be starting with NCSBN, a change in decision instead of Kaplan to save $.

We have to pass this time...rather we WILL pass this time!!!

I've read in one of the threads here that she had an audio type of question where she had to use the headset and listen to a specific sound to choose the answer. All I thought that this new format would be implemented in April 1st. But anyways, I would like to share these just in case you wanted to study...I don't want to think about these yet, siggghhhh.
