Published

Hi I am just wondering if someone likes to be my study buddy.I am from California,I will be taking by march and it will be my 3rd time. It's so hard for me to sit and study again I need motivation.

Oh! good gracious! and now they'll add another to the alternate questions..sigh!

Good Monday Morning Fellow March NCLEX takers,

So, yesterday my husband and I decided to create a schedule for the entire week. I think this is a great week to help me stay focused throughout the week not only with my personal/family life, but very importantly with my NCLEX preparation. I've told myself to be flexible in that the schedule is just a guide (this makes it less stressful...not too rigid ).

Regarding NCLEX prep...everyday I start my day with a daily devotional, eat breakfast (very important...don't skip this), then I set aside 3 hours of Saunders studying by first answering end of the chapter quizzes and if I make 75% I move on to the next chapter. I also took the HURST Review course and if I make

I also take a break every hour of studying...just to get up and stretch...go potty...you know, keep my brain awake! Also during the 3 hours I have penciled myself a snack time...gotta feed the brain!:D After the first 3 hours I step away from it all for about an hour and have lunch...either watch a little TV or jump on the internet...just something that has absolutely nothing to do with nursing...if I can stay away from Allnurses.com:lol2: Then I finish up the day with 1 hour of questions...remembering to read all of the rationales.

Oh, forgot to add a very important part of my day...I have included exercise either in the morning or evening...depending on if hubby is working out with me that day (this is also a very important tip...thanks the.godfatherXIII :yeah:)

Again, I pray many blessings to all of you during this transition in our careers. May GOD continue to bless you all!

Thanks,

NICU1209

Planning to take by end of March so as not to be affected with the new format,if this is true.

This will be my 2nd time, and hoping for the best in me.

I'm also answering questions on Saunder's 4th ed.and also the CD,sometimes looking for other

online free practice questions.

I made a schedule of study but there are days that I cannot follow, with other house chores to do,

so, whenever I have the extra energy,I see to it to answer more than 100 questions.I prefer the CD

cause I can right away see my result, unlike the book, which doubles the time of checking.

Anyway, thanks to find this thread,I hope we can share any good luck from each one here.:)

:hrns&wlcm: Glad you found this thread...let's keep motivating each other. Guess mostly here are planning to take it before April as the new standard takes effect. Me too made a study plan although the time sched isn't followed, I make sure I am able to answer a specific number of questions. It really helps. I borrowed from the library the NCLEX-RN New Format Questions 2010 by Lippincott, combination of fill in the blank, SATA, hotspot,, drag and drop questions. Maybe those of you here in the US can search it at your nearest library. Wanted to share this as it might help you too.

Hope I do pass this time. Never prepared like this before. Btw, I have also started on taking Nootropil (Piracetam) "Smart Drug" - not recommending anyone to take this though. Has anyone tried this? I don't know...let's see how effective it is. :) I was able to let my mom buy it over the counter without prescripion in the Philippines.:lol2:

im doing the back to basic thing..knowlegde more more knowledge theory..i hope its a gud strategy..then by march all take the whole month just answering..questions..gud luk to us!

Wake up! how's everyone here? nothing new...as usual questions here and there! just wanted to keep this thread alive.

Anyone still awake at 10:25PM? :sstrs:
