  1. Hi fellow nurses. I'm currently volunteering at a Post Acute Recovery Unit and a Pre-OP unit.....hopefullly i'll be circulating real soon too. My question is. The management took me in as a VOLUNTEER. they got all my info, copies of my certificates, licenses and even took my TB/ X-ray and physical. I'm practically hired working but with NO PAY. .......my question is. If i put in my application my experience as such.......willl the HR department ACCEPT my experience? or will they somehow TRACK my SSN and see if i got PAY from this company (which im not cuz im a volunteer) and thus be denied cuz they might think im a fraud. Any volunteers in my shoes????? who are hoping to use the volunteeer as a stepping stone experience to get into a hospital job.. please anyone.
  2. Fellow OR nurses. I fortunately got hired as a Circulating Nurse in a Ortho Clinic. We do alllll kinds of surgeries from breast implants, facelifts, colonoscopies, etc. I'm volunteering (NO PAY)...for a couple months now. I might be on the salary in a few weeks with 18dollar/hr pay. I don't feel appreciated at my work. They tell me i'm slow, but i do see some improvement over time. Well i just want to know if my experience in a Non-acute hospital be counted in a hospital setting. 2months experience soo far. i hope i can apply to a hospital soon for i wish to earn money for my family.

  7. Hi fellow friends, I'm currently in a Long Term Care Rehabilitation Home . Will my LTC experience as a Supervisor nurse be accepted in a ACUTE Hospital Setting? Can i be considered for positions? Because everytime i read Job POSTS for Hospital Positions more often then not there are requirements " 1 Year Acute Care Experience".... anybody in my shoes? Is it going to be hard for me to enter any Med/surg or Transitional Units in an Acute setting?? please anyone help....i hope im in a good career path. My ultimate dream will be a telemetry unit.
  8. I know this is most likely going to be unanswered cuz of competition, but anyway, where are the New Grad Friendly hospitals?
  9. @ ufblondi are you a New Grad?
  10. Maybe the workplace address would be better than personal home addresses.
  11. I'm sitting here in my California office, it's 2:00 AM! I have been checking every hour for my name to be posted on the verification page (bon-ca). Then, KABOOOOOOOM!! I just saw my official license number and name posted on the permanent verification LINK. Feels great. Pearson-vue trick worked for me the second time around (first time cc page). I was a Friday march 26,2010 taker. And my name was posted Tuesday 2:00AM pacific cali time. I feel like a new man. For my fellow friday nclex takers, your names are likely too be up soon for i was a friday 2pm taker at pasadena branch. goooood luck to u all and god bless. Life begins
