Hi I am just wondering if someone likes to be my study buddy.I am from California,I will be taking by march and it will be my 3rd time. It's so hard for me to sit and study again I need motivation.
I'm a February NCLEX taker, but thought you all could use these notes:
Thanks stripec30 for those attached files of yours, i have seen it and it's a big help! :)
I have a question to you fellow march takers, how do you guys review? Although the time you spend a day for review is individualized, how many hours do you spend per day for your review?
Me, I'm using Saunder's Compre. Review, 4th Ed. and I start answering 100Q/day and read each rationale after answering. By next week i am planning to answer 150 questions/day. Then by february, i'll answer all the 1000+ questions left in my Kaplan Qbank. So approximately 4 hours i allocate for review each day and I do it 5 days a week.
You think its enough preparation? or do i need to go back on my content and review for an hour? What you think guys? (especially those who passed the exam)
Thanks in advance! :bowingpur
I am doing Saunder's 75-100 questions/day with no specific hours, focusing on content area coz I have been out of the field for many years. Being a mom and wife the chores bothers me so I have a lot of breaks, wish I took time when I was still in the Philippines where we can afford to have maids, lol. I also keep a website open for easy access on topics I don't know and weak. With extra time I do answer questions from other references like NCLEX 3500, Kaplan for varied types of questions. At night, I read printed materials and write repeatedly facts that needs memorization like lab.values. it helps me as I now have a very poor memory, lol.
I didn't study like this with my previous exams, took it just for the sake of taking it, Hoping and praying I pass this time...and everyone here. Good luck!
ok., i don't know really what kind of review I'm doing right now 'coz my mind is like it's not working anymore....But I still read and do questions..I try to do 100 everyday and read the rationales focusing on my mistakes.,I'm using the saunders 4th ed. and the cd and also the nclex 3500..But just like I said, I feel that my mind is so full so sometimes I'm pushing myself..And there's this new job which will start on February..I'm stressed and so stressed...
What do you think?Am I doing it right?
@michaelsprv8RN> hehe..wish we have taken our time indeed as i'm also a husband and soon to be a father in 2 mos..:) But anyway, i do believe we will pass this test. just what the other man said "there is no such nursing student who didn't become a nurse not unless he/she opt to not to become one." Time will tell, we'll soon become a RN! :paw:
@einannie05> sounds like your beginning to burn out..:) how bout take a day off. and if you think that you need more time for review and since you believe you'll be working soon, well you can move your schedule for your exam if you want. I'd say just take your time, try to remove unnecessary "thinkings" and if you think that nothing is working, take some days off but not too long for you may forget those hard earned content your reviewed everyday.
PS: and if you are religious too, you can pray too!
Dear Father,We come to you right now just to say acknowledge just how merciful you have been to us during one of the most challenging times in the history of our world. Lord...You are the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. You are Abba Father!!! We truly honor and magnify your precious and Holy Name even in the darkest days. We understand as your children that you are the light of the world.
We thank you for opportunity to serve as "caregivers" to the wounded, burdened, downtrodden, mentally and physically challenged. We believe that you did not bring us this far to leave nor forsake us as we embark to obtain our registered nurse/practical nurse license. Your word says, Ask and it shall be given, seek and yea shall find. So right now...God, right now I am asking that you bind every spirit of worry, depression and anxiety upon my sisters, brothers and I as we endeavor to pass the NCLEX RN/PN examination. Lord give us calm spirit. Shower down confidence on us. Most of all we have built our trust in you and not some examination. Grant us FAVOR right now !!!!
You promised that we shall be victorious in 2010. 10 is the biblical number of "DIVINE PERFECTION". 2010 you said you will bring forth a NEW GENERATION of Nurses, Leaders and Providers who walk with boldness and as advocates for patients. Those who put greed over patients shall be no more.
Heavenly Father, You are Jehovah Jireh, "OUR KIND AND LOVING PROVIDER". Lord those of my brothers and sisters who are experiencing any lack and financial hardships I am petitioning you to provide supernatural provisions. I command it right now under the sound of my voice!!!! I decree and declare that all spirits of worry and anxiety are eradicated right now. It shall be turned into calm and peace to weather the storm for our preparation for our licenses. Finally, we ask that if it be in your perfect will for each one of us to pass the NCLEX PN/RN exam at the appointed time i.e. in your perfect timing.
We thank you in advance for your grace and mercy on our lives and on our vocation as registered/practical nurses in the final making.
AMEN !!!!!
:heartbeat
P.S. I hope I have not offended anyone with my post. Only done in love for those of us who have requested prayer.
AMEN!!!! What an awesome prayer...To GOD be the glory!
Thanks,
NICU1209

thank you for the advice.,greatly appreciate it..but sadly, I can't move my date of exam anymore.,ATT expires on April.. I wasn't able to take the exam earlier because of the kind of job I have of job in Hongkong. Then I was depressed with my grandmothers death. So now is all the time I have and it seems that I'm gonna have breakdowns...

heard that effectivity date is April 1st, so as I was advice by some people here to give myself a break I'd probably move my April 19th scheduled date for the exam on the last week of march:idea:..goodluck to all of us...:)
