January NCLEX Study Group!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hi Friends!

I am taking the NCLEX in January. I will graduate from my accelerated BSN program in mid-December, just before Christmas. This is an 11.5 month ABSN program and is make-your-head-spin-fast!

I am still deciding whether I will take the Hurst Review or the Kaplan Review, but I do have the Saunders 4th Edition NCLEX-RN Comprehensive Review book. It is huge! Honestly, I feel overwhelmed and feel like I do not know where to begin. I will just begin at the beginning! Care to join me on this wild ride?!?! We can encourage one another along the way!:typing

As part of my study program, I want to incorporate exercising at least 20 minutes a day and eating healthier snacks. Grabbing an apple and cheese instead of pepsi and cheetos!:pumpiron:

Let's do this thing!!!!

:yelclap:

I am using sauders 4th edition. I hope to do the hurst thingy too. Any advice will help.

Specializes in critical care, PACU.

Im taking the NCLEX in january and am a BSN student too. Good idea with the study group.

Im using saunders, ati, kaplan, and ncbsn learning ext. my school is also doing weekly review seshes so Im hoping all this overstudying will prepare me.

Im with you all being a (probable) January test taker!

My pinning is December 10th, so I figure I'll fall either late Dec or early Jan.... either way, I'd like to be involved too.'I have Saunders 4th and Exam Cram.

First decide which books you want to use.

Be careful not to overload yourself

Be sure P&D by LaCharity is one of the books

good morning it is 8:50 am est

okay guys, i have to work this week a little longer so i won't be doing intensive study. i plan to look over a lab value sheet and a sheet a made of drugs off tv. i sat and watched 4 eight hours straight the other day. i was shocked @ the # of drugs on tv commercials alone. no wonder we get hammered with pharm, if the public knows it so should we, u think!

here's my question: i originally stated i was going to take an live review course but feur has an live review and it is free. problem it is from 2002 i planned to listen to that while working. what do you think content to old, anatomy remains same but understanding of physiology aspects is what i'm thinking would have changed on here.

also anyone found an updated free version? funds are running low.

thanks all

hi all, january is definitely the month for a miracle, i'm testing as well - failed sept '08, and finally regain my composure to go at it again. i'm using davis's nclex-rn success by sally l. lagerquist, prioritization, delegation assignment along with examcram. i'm definitely claiming the victory this time, not just for me but for us all.

pedsnurze, it would really be appreciated if you post those drugs that are being advertised - i'm sure it would be of great help to those of us who are not currently in the us.

lets continue to support each other guys, we will do it!!!

Well, I may be in with you guys for january as well. Took it yesterday 11/19/09 and really dont feel good about it at all. Got the dreaded 265 questions. This was my second time around. I was pretty devastated after the test was finally done. But, I dont know for sure yet. I took the Kaplan 2 week review with the access to all the questions and content. It was very helpful, however some of the prioritizing questions I got yesterday were so over the top and not really close to what I had been studying. I really felt very confident going in. Not saying that all was lost, I actually knew some answers to some questions without questioning myself. If I dont pass, I plan on purchasing that delagation and prioritizing book, I have saunders comprehensive review, I may pruchase saunders Q & A or even buy a Kaplan book with CD. Anyone with any suggestions, I would sure appreciate. Katie
