Hi Friends!
I am taking the NCLEX in January. I will graduate from my Accelerated BSN program in mid-December, just before Christmas. This is an 11.5 month ABSN program and is make-your-head-spin-fast!
I am still deciding whether I will take the Hurst Review or the Kaplan Review, but I do have the Saunders 4th Edition NCLEX-RN Comprehensive Review book. It is huge! Honestly, I feel overwhelmed and feel like I do not know where to begin. I will just begin at the beginning! Care to join me on this wild ride?!?! We can encourage one another along the way!:typing
As part of my study program, I want to incorporate exercising at least 20 minutes a day and eating healthier snacks. Grabbing an apple and cheese instead of pepsi and cheetos!:pumpiron:
Let's do this thing!!!!
:yelclap:
Who's gearing up for the NCLEX in January 2010? Post your plan, your progress, goals and lets keep each other motivated. My Short Term plan is completing:
- 1 Chapter/day from the NCLEX Nursing Pearls study guide.
- 1 page/day from the 'NCLEX Random Facts' posts.
- 2 Chapters/day end-of-chapter review from MS I/II textbook.
Long Term Plan:
- In progress
Merged with existing thread for continuity
I will be a January test taker!! I just took the HESI a few hours ago..that was interesting. One of the past graduates of my program said that the NCLEX was just like the HESI and did not think it was harder at all. That makes me feel good because as I was taking the exam today, I kept thinking to myself "wow, I am not going to get 1 question right".
I don't really have a study plan yet, I took Hurst before this semester and plan on doing it again right after graduation. I have Saunders but I have heard those questions are too easy. I scored 76% on the Assessment Test the first time. I think I might try NCLEX 4000.
So who is Kay? I do not know her! Did she reply that she wants to study together?I must say, all of the NCLEX failing stories are starting to freak me out. I can feel my heart rate rising when I read those threads. Perhaps I should stay away from them!!!! DUH!
KAYBDT6 Is the correct name. Really enjoy the post for they help build my critical thinking skills:twocents:, which I NEED LOTS of help. We can do this!
Okay, so I have studied about 1/2 of the pediatrics chapters in Saunders...that was one of my very lowest scores. I went from a 41% to a 67%. Oh well, it is a start. I am nervous because I have ATI in less than 3 weeks. That is my school's exit exam/indicator on how you will do on NCLEX. I have A LOT to do in the next three weeks!!!! If I can get through Pediatrics and Adult Health, I will be okay.
How did ATI go? Just a few more weeks to graduation!
Is your :redbeathe now?
Good morning it is 8:50 AM EST
Okay guys, I have to work this week a little longer so I won't be doing intensive study. I plan to look over a lab value sheet and a sheet a made of drugs off tv. I sat and watched 4 eight hours straight the other day. I was shocked @ the # of drugs on tv commercials alone. No wonder we get hammered with pharm, if the public knows it so should we, u think!
Here's my question: I originally stated I was going to take an live review course but FEUR has an live review and it is free. Problem it is from 2002 I planned to listen to that while working. What do you think content to old, Anatomy remains same but understanding of physiology aspects is what I'm thinking would have changed on here.
Also anyone found an updated free version? Funds are running low.
Thanks all
I hope to take the NCLEX in January! I already have a job lined up and three weeks until my final to graduate from my ADN program. Only problem is this semester is much harder than all other semesters. I am passing with a small cushion but it would not take much to put me over to failing. I have a test and a final left to make it and then I can take my NCLEX. I already took the ATI Comprehensive and got a 99% chance of NCLEX pass, this was at the start of the semester. We will take it again in a few weeks. Right now I just hope I am with all of you in January! We can do this!
