Love the new name! I go through Epi Pens for Schools also. They have all the paperwork you will need and I believe sample policies too. I got the program started at the end of my 1st year here. I had to get the policy approved by our school board, then I got a local doctor to agree to sign off on the order, then send everything to the program. It took several months in all. The Mylan program will give you 2 sets of Epi Pens (a jr. and regular in each set), a locker to keep them in , and an educational DVD for training purposes.

Same on my end. I love the locker they sent!
And once I got the standing orders written and signed, along with a simple form provided my Mylan on their site, it was easy to upload those documents and put the order in.
I ended up using on of those Epi-pens this year already and was able to order a replacement quickly; had it within 2 weeks in hand.
I like the new name!
I do the mylan for schools bit for epipens. I got the lockers, but haven't installed them yet. I am implementing a new epipen storage this year - a box with 12 drawers in it big enough for the epis in their original boxes. i label each drawer for each kid. it looks like if i had to, i could double up.
My school md writes the standing order for my stocks epis and benadryl.
"Keeper of the Ice" is genius.
Mylan provides two 0.3 pens and two 0.15 pens (which I will never use as my kids are all over 90 pounds). The kicker is...if I use one, will it be replaced? We took all our EpiPens back to HQ over the summer and magically got new ones...but I am not sure we'll always get free stuff. Fingers crossed, though.
When you have the orders written see if you can include staff as well. Ours did not, I requested the change because we had a staff person stung by a bee and.....surprise, she turned out to be anaphylactic ally allergic to bee stings! I didn't have to use an EpiPen (but I would have).

GOOOOOOOOD MORNING ALL!!
Just a couple of things....
1) I changed my name from C.MackeyRN
My hubby wasn't too wild about so much of my name being in the cyber world so I changed it
2) Those who have stock epi on campus....what all was required to get that implemented? Obviously MD order is required. But where do you get yours from? What does your policy look like? How many do you keep on campus? As our school grows, my admin is starting to inquire about adding some new things to the health services and has asked for my input on this topic as well as updating our policies on OTC meds and sunscreen.
Thanks in advance for your help/input!!
