What is likely the reason for this?

LMAO! You all are hilarious. :lol2:

Gall Bladder was my first thought. But yeah, could be anything.

The hobo stabbing with acrylic yarn contamination is of particular concern though.

SOCMMOB when a hobo with rabies licked a knitting needle with a half finished acrylic sock and STABBED me with it!

So for care planning...do you remove the needle to prevent rabies spread or leave it in? How long til the pt requires isolation precautions, and what kind will he need?

OMG y'all, we TOTALLY hijacked this thread....

And pocunit, I must admit that I did NOT realize the scourge that acrylic insipidly poses. Do you think it might be as bad as the Spandex Scourge of 1990? (((Shudder))))

Can I ask a question?

If this is a homework Q, the OP only states patient complain about pain. Okay, if this is theoretical, you look at the site to begin with right? Observe what it looks like, ask pain scale 1-10? Then what? Only 1 cue? Are we not to gather more than 1 cue before making a Nur diagnoses? I am very new to all of this, would anyone care to explain?

(Slapping my dumb forehead) OF COURSE!!!! The needle went through the intercostal space and the lung is slowly but surely deflating. PNEUMO!!!!

I think that we didn't catch the dx at first because the needle was dull. However, I think that we should now be most concerned that the acrylic scourge will infect the lungs. What is that drug that we use for Acute Acrylic Infection? Dang...it's on the tip of my tongue...

That darned acrylic blocking med! I forgot all about it! Doesn't it decrease intracellular acrylic by binding with the beta-Spandex ions in the blood?
