OP, OP! Are you still there? Please forgive these overworked abused nurses. They hijacked your thread and were mean. I have never seen such rudeness or childishness in my life. I think a call to the BON is in order.

Again, OP...please excuse us for hijacking your thread. We are some seriously tired nurses and this thread has been the most fun I have had all day. BUT, we never got around to being serious about your question.
My hat is off to you for allowing us to be silly. THANK YOU!
If you are still around, please give us some more information and we will try to help you solve this dilemma.

You guys have it all wrong .....
The patient is an old nurse.
She was assaulted by an aussie nurse who hates old nurses.

OP, if this is indeed a homework question, please DO NOT give the posted answers as your homework answers. You would no doubt fail the course.
Hopefully you have by now discerned your own answers, because allnurses.com is totally noncompliant!

Some patients get sore ribs lying in bed cos their pec muscles get all all squished up. Just do all your vitals and take it from there, in context with their diagnosis/ses.
Ibuprofen can help with that pain.
