My feet hurt!

Published

I am working 16 hour shifts on the weekends and my feet burn something awful by the end of the second say. So does anyone know of a good shoe that might help? I have tried Danskos and they aren't doing it for me.......

you could always get foot supports placed into your shoes. that way they aren't burning like crazy after your shifts.

try streching your feet. point your toe towards your chin. may feel a little uncomfortable at first but feels good. new balance sneakers are a good choice . good luck

Change shoes,,, 1 -2 3 times per shift. That will alleviate tender areas.

Also,, I rub a topical foot cream described to relieve foot pain, during these changes. No one can stand on their feet for 16 hours without pain!

There is not a shoe in the world dear!

I went to a running store and had them analyze my foot. They recommended a shoe based on those tests and it has been spot on. I wear a stability shoe by New Balance. It isn't the most expensive or the cheapest. My feet/legs no longer hurt after my shifts. They were worth every penny! I would recommend having your feet analyzed at one of these places. You do not have to purchase from them but the information was worth it.

New Balance work for me, the expensive ones. I think mine are the 846, they also come in 928 which are even better shoes. Plus I buy the arch supports at the New Balance store. All in all, it's around $160 that I pay for the shoe and supports but very well worth it! I also wear support hose cause my legs ache worse than my feet if I don't .

I have flat feet and cannot stand to wear dansko's.

after much experimenting, i have found that aasics 3020's (higher-end running shoes) work very well for me. i also wear support hose (the $10 CVS kind).

I love my dansko's, but have found that the socks make a huge difference. I LOVE smart wool's.... if I wear cute thin socks, my feet and legs are killing me by mid shift....

How are the Alegria's??? always curious with shoes... :)

Super feet sold at EMS, inserts, they help.

I like the new Reebok toners. They have extra cushioning at the heels and balls of the feet, less burning. 16 hours are going to hurt no matter what, on your breaks, put those feet up on a chair!

New Balance. They are the best shoes ever for being on your feet for long periods of time, in my opinion :)

I :heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat my Crocs. I have tried various styles but the mercy work and bistro styles are the most comfortable for long hours on your feet. The bonus with Crocs is you can wash them any time you need to...:nurse:
